Promises (A HanakoXNene fan-fiction)

Nene stared out the gray school window at the sunset, she liked to sit here after she finished cleaning. It was quiet. It gave her time to think, and it calmed her down. She knew she had to get home at some point, but she liked sitting here just to think about her life.

"Miss Yashiro?" a confused voice said, jerking Nene back into reality. It was Hanako, She spun around and looked at him, he looked confused...

"Why are you still here? I thought you left 15 minutes ago?" Hanako asked curiously.

"O-Oh- Well- It just- I-" Nene couldn't think of the right words, "I just uh- Forgot my backpack!" Nene reached down and grabbed her bag. "Here we are!" She turned around to leave, when,

"What's going on?" Hanako always knew when something was wrong... "I know you didn't leave your bag because you had it with you when you left 20 minutes ago."

"Dang...How does he always know..." Nene thought to herself before turning around and saying, "Well...I just-..." Nene sighed, "Sometimes...I sit here and think about things. The sunset helps me think."

Hanako chuckled, "I didn't know Diakons had a thought process!"

"Shut up!!" Nene grumbled, then turned back to the window "I have a lot to think about..."

Hanako took a seat by the window and patted his hand on the floor next to him "Wanna talk about it? It's not like I have anywhere to go!" He chuckled at that last part.

Nene chuckled and sat down next to him, "Well...Sometimes I think I'm too caught up on finding a boyfriend..." She sighed. "I just...Maybe I'm too desperate? And that's why no boys ever like me back.." She sighed, and had a couple tears welling up in her eyes.

Hanako scooted in close next to her and said, "Well, why do you want a boyfriend so bad?"

"I-...I think I just want someone to love me...There's no harm in that!!" Nene cried defensively, and wiped a tear from under her eye.

"You're right, there isn't!" Hanako said with his classic smile, "But hey, do you really think that all those guys you've "liked" are right for you?"

Nene looked at him questioningly, "Well...I mean they are way out of my leag-"

But Hanako cut Nene off "That's not what I mean..." Hanako sighed, "I mean... is it REALLY worth all of this pain....? for a guy who may not even end up to be the perfect fit..?"

Nene groaned, she knew he was right. He was always right..."You're right...I just want someone to care about me..." She looked out the window, the sun was setting fast.

Hanako looked at her for a second, before placing his hand on her shoulder and saying "What the hell do I look like?"Hanako said with a blank expression. Nene immediately turned beat red, and shouted back

"You do not! Little liar!" As she stuck her tongue out at him.

"I am not!....Lying...." Hanako replied. However this time his tone changed this time. He took his arm off her shoulder, and stared out the window. He stared out at the sky, with eyes full of words that could not be said.

"I.. promise I am not lying, Miss Yashiro." he said in a quiet tone.

Nene turned and looked at Hanako, she had never heard him sound like that before. "Hanako?" she asked, causing Hanako to turn and look at her. "I love you too," She said smiling.

"I NEVER SAID THAT!" Hanako said flustered.

"You didn't have too!" Nene laughed. "It was heavily implied!" Nene giggled and hugged Hanako tightly.

Hanako was incredibly uncomfortable, and lightly pushed her off of him. "Now now, let's not get ahead of ourselves, Miss Yashiro." he chuckled and stood up. "You better get home, it's getting late."

Nene looked at the clock on the wall above them, and realized how late she was! "You're right! I have to get home! Uh- Bye Hanako!!"

She ran off before Hanako could respond. Hanako watched her leave the school from his window. He put his hand on the glass and smiled.
