      Metanoia (n.)

-the journey of changing one's mind, heart, self, or way of life

The trio toured (Name) as best as they could, by trio meaning Mimosa. Klaus would sometimes pitch in to remind them about the rules and whatnot, but the raven-haired lad seemed uninterested by the whole trip. Always looking ahead as if his dreams are so out of reach. However, the fiery Wind-spirit was the very contradiction of his attitude. (Name) noticed that she was always trying to catch his attention. She won't say it, but even she was getting annoyed by the constant pestering. But this is the great Wind-spirit we're talking about here, she's not so brave as to take her lightly so she just focused on what the Vermillion princess was saying.

"It's so good to have you on our squad Miss (Name)!"

"Please, you can call me (Name). I'm also honoured to be on board with such talented mages. I'm actually just hoping that I wouldn't drag any of you down during missions. I'm still new, but I'll be trying my best to train to keep up with you all!" She bowed slightly, a sheepish expression forming on her face.

She only realized how embarrassing her declaration was after it left her mouth. Out of all the people here, she was supposed to be the eldest. But in terms of experience as a Magic Knight, they all had her beat.

The fairy giggled at her, "Hey Yuno, isn't she kinda like that loud boy on the Black Bull's"

She knew who she was talking about. Well, who didn't?  That boy Asta, who doesn't have, even a lick of mana in him, is the fastest progressing mage among them. Excluding Yuno, of course. It was inspiring how hard he works, and how strong his psychological resilience is. Especially in his squad, who is now only second to the Golden Dawn. She heard all about the talented, albeit a little strange, members.

"Shut up, Belle." The solemn boy turned his head, uninterested. Earning a 'hmph' from the fairy.

(Name) also knows that Yuno and Asta are close friends, family even. In one of William's rare letters to her, he mentioned that there was a prodigy among the new mages and curiously enough, he declared rivalry to a magicless boy.

Not so magicless, now, she thought. Although looking at the teen beside her, Asta and he seems to be the complete opposite. A tall slender physique, a very noteworthy handsome face, clearly very loved by mana judging by the Spirit perched in his shoulder.

Mimosa sneakily looked at the new member who seems to be making eyes at her companion. She ushered (Name) toward her and linked their arms together.

"Yuno's very handsome, huh (Name). Don't worry, you're not the first one who fell for his indifferent charms." Mimosa whispered to her when they were far away enough from the lads.

Startled by her assumptions, (Name) immediately tried to straighten things out, "Y-you must be mistaken, Mimosa! I-I mean, yes I suppose, He is very handsome but,"

She was cut off by the small squeak of delight that came from the princess, she promptly covered her mouth with her hand when their comrades looked at them weirdly.

"Hush, Mimosa! Please let me finish!" Only when she nodded did (Name) put her hand away.

"He is certainly pleasing to look at, but!" She narrowed her eyes at the beaming young lady, "My heart is spoken for. Let's not mention the fact that I'm older than him by quite a few moons, that would only make me depressed."

You already did, though. Mimosa mused but chose to be silent about it. She can't believe that her new friend may be older than her. Her looks aren't to be frowned down upon if she told her that she was in the same age group as her, she would believe her in a heartbeat. She can tell her all that, but a sentence immediately caught her attention.

"Your heart, hm?"

(Name) cringed. She was hoping that she wouldn't notice it, but she supposed there was nothing wrong with telling her. It wasn't like it was meant to be a secret, right? She already developed feelings for her soft-hearted friend before he was known to be Captain William Vangeance.

Mimosa felt a rush of joy when her new friend blushed. Finally some lady talk! Don't get her wrong, she never gets bored with amusement from her two companions, but they also won't talk about boys. Unless it's Asta, then maybe. She turned her head to the Knights that were lagging behind them, of course, they're not interested in touring the newbie,

"Hey Yuno, Klaus! You can go now. I'm gonna finish the rest of the tour with her so don't worry!"

The ravenette seemed eager to go, but the spectacled mage thought otherwise, "But the Captain entrusted us to show her around. It would be unbefitting to go."

Mimosa didn't waver, "That's what I'm saying! I'll finish this and if Captain William asked, I'll tell him that we all finished the tour with her."

Klaus seems to be contemplating what she said. This was an order from the Captain, but it's almost done now and Mimosa was promising to finish it. He can train some more like, he wouldn't tell it to anybody, Asta is probably doing right now.

(Name) decided to interject on the Senior Mages' deep thinking, "Don't worry, Klaus. Mimosa and I will be just fine."

He looked at her polite smile and nodded his head, "Fine, but be sure to finish it Mimosa."

He barely finished his sentence when Mimosa pushed him and Yuno away, "Yes, yes. Now go!"

The new mage just stared at the retreating figures be enveloped by the setting sun's rays, waiting for the bubbly royal. She was sure that she shooed the others away not because she was concern about their boredom, but because of the one that took her heart. (Name) didn't have someone to have lady talk too, growing up. She loved her father dearly, and he's painfully aware of her affection for William, but that doesn't mean that they just go on about it while braiding each other's hair. Those were times that she wished her mother was still alive.

She shook her head to rid of the upsetting thoughts, it was no use to wish for something that will never come true. She greeted the princess with a smile when she came back. There was no use in wishing for something, so she just had to make things happen on her own.

Mimosa linked their arms again, a cheeky smile resting upon her face, "About your heart being taken for, (Name).

The said girl returned her smile with a genuine one of her own, playfully rolling her eyes, "Where should I even begin?"
