Your P.O.V

"Come on, (Name)! Please, please tell me." The vermillion-haired princess swung my arm as if it was not attached to my body.

"Fine!" Another squeak of excitement exited her lips, causing my eyes to quickly turn into slits, making her clamp her mouth shut, "But you must promise me that you won't tell a soul."

Mimosa mimicked a zipper running over her mouth, to which she proceeded to cross her heart, "I promise, (Name). Now do go on, Who is the lucky mage?!"

I fiddled with the hems of my attire. I mean, this is the first time that someone, except for William or father, would know about this. I don't even know why I'm about to tell it to someone I just met. But then, I looked at her, eyes wide in earnest, I can't help but smile.

"Well, I'm sure you know him. He's quite popular."

My companion furrowed her brows, until a look of something akin to desperation appeared on her face, "Oh, no! Is it Asta too, (Name)?"

I looked at her, horrified, "What! What's with you paring me with pre-teenagers. For the love of the Kingdom, Mimosa, no!"

Mimosa exhaled a sigh, to which I'm guessing is of relief. It was my turn to smile coyly at her, "Besides, I don't want to make my new friend into a rival this quickly."

I couldn't hold the chuckle of amusement that escaped me as I watched her face dawn in a beautiful hue of red,

"W-whatever do you mean? We shouldn't even be talking about m-me! We were supposed to be talking about your love life!"

I raised my hands in surrender to stop the word vomit that she was currently experiencing, "Of course, of course, It's.." I saw Mimosa stopped her rambling to listen intently, I bowed my head slightly, hiding my reddening face to her intense, inquisitive eyes, "Captain..W-William.."

At her third squeak, the former ones were no match at how deafening this one was. I all but smacked her mouth shut, "Calm yourself, woman! Someone might hear."

She nodded but kept fanning herself even after I removed my hand, "I didn't expect that! I just can't believe it...Oh my! I remember now. The Captain said you were a dear friend of his!" I felt a jibe on my side, "Does that mean that your love story goes way back?"

I snorted, "Love story my behind, I don't know about that. But I guess, I've known that dolt since he cried about the littlest of things."

"Childhood friends?" Mimosa clapped her hands, "How exciting! How did you meet?"

"When my father hosted a soirée once, His guardians came with him in tow," I smiled fondly in reverie, "He was a timid little thing, He kept looking at the floor despite his father and step-mother's warnings.."

Flashback

"William! Straighten up! Keep your chin up, and your chest high. That posture is unbecoming of a lord."

I looked curiously at the boy receiving such an embarrassing lecture in the middle of a gathering. There were weird marks on his face. I wonder where he got it from? I keep looking at the boy, intrigued. I tugged at my father's coat.

"Father, can I go approach that boy with the white hair?" Father turned to look at him before looking back at me and nodded in approval.

I ran towards the boy, making him look up in shock, I wonder what's so shocking though? I was about to greet him when his mother, I guess, bowed slightly.
