Chapter Ten

*One Year Later*

Mario POV

"John, get over here!!" I was running down the main hall in the castle, chasing John, who was learning how to walk. Well, learning how to run. 'Damn, this kid is fast!' I bend at the knees and huff, catching my breath. "Got slow, Mario?" I turned to see Bowser smirking at me, his teeth sticking out of his mouth. "And you didn't, old man?" I laughed. I hated Bowser when this whole thing first started, but you learn to get used to him. And his stomping. And his snoring that can be heard from down the half mile hall...and his attitude. I walk to him and slap his arm. "Soooo, you and kamek...." His face turns a bright red and I laugh. This always happens. "W-what about her?" We start walking and John met us, running faster than the blue blur himself. Hell, last time i saw Sonic was at the Olympics. Wonder whats up with him? Anyway, I look at Bowser and grin, picking up John. "I dunno, anything new??" Bowser rolled his eyes and sighed. He looked...a bit sad. I gave him a questioning look. "What is it?" He stopped and sighed again, looking deep in thought. Then he kept walking. "I haven't been able to see her since this whole thing started. It's like being away at a senseless war.." I nod slowly, putting a squirming John down. "But a war is worse. This is like a cease fire..." I sneak a look at Bowser and see his eyes were watering. Bowser? Crying? Thats intense. I put a hand on his large, scale covered arm. "You'll see her. It won't be long." Bowser shook his head. "I dunno plumber..."

Peach POV

I was walking back and forth, waiting for an important phone call, when the phone rang, making me jump. I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Peach."

"Hey! I was beginning to think you weren't going to call."

"Well i did."

"So, have you found out anything on Luigi?"

"Yes, he's lying dormant for now."

"Dormant?"

"Low, not killing, not going out in public."

"Oh...but do you know where he is?"

"He moves a lot, so no, not at this moment."

"Oh..."

"I'm still coming over, so we'll talk later."

"Ok."

"Ok, I'll see you later"

"See you."

I put the phone down and sighed. Where the hell was Luigi now? We've been searching for him for a year, and haven't been able to catch him. I groaned in frustration and slammed my fist on the counter, flipping a spoon into the sink. "Nice, Princess, but couldn't you have just put it in the sink by picking it up?" I turned to see Mario and Bowser standing in the doorway, smiling. "Oh...heh, yeah." Mario walked to me and hugged me, giving me a kiss on the cheek. I looked at Bowser. "Are you ok?" He smirked. "Yeah...its nothing. Seriously." I smiled at him. "If you say so.."

Boswer POV

I laid in the same bed I've been laying in for a year. Honestly, I've been sort of...depressed. Especially today. Its our anniversary...

*beep beep*

I rolled over and took my phone from the nightstand. It was a text from Kamek.

Hey ❤

I smiled slightly and texted back.

Hey ❤ i missed u

Missed you to, still do

Heh..

Whats wrong?

...whats today..

Our anniversary, what, you'd think I'd forget?

No, i just want to see you...

Kamek, what is it?

...you will soon, ok? We all have work to do...

I stood up and walked around. "What is wrong with her?" I growled. Suddenly, Mario walked in, making me jump. "Whats wrong?" I sat on my bed and sighed.

"Something's up with Kamek and she isnt..."

*beep beep*

I grabbed my phone and opened the message. It said a single word.

P-pregnant...

I held my head and everything started going blurry and black. Mario's voice kept calling my name.

"Bowser?"

          "-owser..."

                      "-ser?!"

I heard myself groan, but it sounded so far away. I opened my eyes, only to see the carpet flying up to meet me.
