• Harry's POV •
I immediately clamped my hands over my mouth while Zayn just stared at me with wide eyes. Why the hell did I say that?!
"You... What?" Zayn asked, looking at me as if I had four heads.
"I-I didn't mean to say that!" I replied, shaking my head. "It just... Slipped out!"
"I'm leaving, Harry."
"Zayn, don't do this!"
Zayn snorted and crossed his arms. "What do you propose I do then, hmm? Try and get another job only to have them reject me because one of my stupid, irresponsible students just had to push it!"
I was suddenly angry. How dare he try and pin this all on me? It was his fault too! "Stupid and irresponsible? This is just as much your fault as it is mine! I don't know if you remember, but that day when you called me to talk to you after school, YOU were the one who kissed ME! You started all this! So don't you dare try and blame this all on me when it was you who started our little thing in the first place!" I practically screamed, which definitely shut him up. He just stared at me with wide eyes, mouth hanging open slightly, probably because I'd never gotten mad at him before and especially not like this.
"HARRY EDWARD STYLES!" the familiar voice of my mum screeched. Before I knew it, she was beside me, and she had grabbed onto my arm. "Your principal called and told me you're expelled!"
I looked away, dropping my eyes to the ground.
"And you," she began in a hiss, turning to Zayn. She raised a hand, jabbing him in the chest with one finger. "You stay away from my son!" she growled, pulling me off and into our house.
"Mum, I don't want to talk about this." I sighed as we got inside. Of course, she couldn't just let me off. She turned to face me, hands on her hips, fuming.
"Would you like to explain to me what the 'inappropriate teacher-student behaviour' is that resulted in you getting expelled?" she asked, tapping her foot impatiently on the ground.
"Making out." I muttered, avoiding her eyes.
"I'm so disappointed in you, Harry! And all those times he came over to tutor you and the two of you were alone upstairs?!" she didn't give me a chance to answer, just continued ranting, waving her hands about wildly to go with her rants. "I don't even want to know what you were doing then! I can't BELIEVE you would do something like this! And with your teacher?!" still, she didn't give me a chance to speak. She wasn't nearly done yet. "I can't believe you got expelled for making out with your teacher! I know you're a flirt, Harry, but this is just unacceptable! You aren't to be talking to him again, do you understand?!"
"He's leaving anyways." I mumbled, still avoiding looking at her. Because of me, I added on silently.
"Good, because if I ever see you talking to him again, you're in BIG trouble! You're grounded, Harry. Go to your room."
I slowly trudged up the stairs to my room. The minute I got up there, my phone rang. I pulled it out of my pocket and answered it. "I'm not really in the mood to talk, Lou." I answered in a sigh.
"You and Malik got caught?!"
I facepalmed myself. Great. Everybody knows. "Yeah." I muttered.
"Oh my God, so it is true that you were making out and the principal walked right in?!"
"Yeah, it's true." I sighed, sitting down on my bed and looking out the window without really intending to. I could see Zayn pacing around in his bedroom, and our eyes met briefly before he turned away. "I got expelled and he got fired. My mum totally flipped and now I'm not allowed to talk to him ever again unless I'm in big trouble. But that won't be a problem anyways. He hates me now, even though it's technically his fault that all of this happened. He says he's moving since he's not going to be able to get another job in this town after it."
I can practically hear Lou's sympathetic smile. I know him so well that I just know he's wearing one. "Well, at least now you don't have to go to school." he joked lightly, but I didn't even crack a smile.
"I'm not in the mood to joke around." I replied, looking out the window again. Zayn was looking at me now, but this time, it was me who broke the eye contact. I may have been upset about the fact that he was leaving, but I was still mad at him for trying to blame all of this on me.
"Sorry, Hazzie. I'm guessing your grounded now?"
"Yep."
"So I can't come over?"
"Nope."
He sighed lightly and I mentally did too. "Well, then I guess I won't see you tomorrow. I've gotta go, the bell just rung. Bye Haz, love you!"
"Love you too Boobear." I replied half-heartedly, then hung up. I glanced back out the window, and to my surprise, I saw that Zayn was holding up a portable whiteboard with writing on it. I frowned and walked over to my window, and now I could read it.
'Sorry :/' read the whiteboard, and as I glanced at his face, he was wearing an apologetic frown.
I grabbed a piece of paper and a marker and wrote back with, 'It's okay.' with a weak smile. He smiled back and flipped his whiteboard around, erasing it and then writing something else.
'Your mum mad?'
'Completely pissed.'
'Sorry... Again :('
'Don't worry about it. You still leaving?'
'I don't know.'
'Oh... Doesn't matter much anyways.'
'Why?'
'I'm banned from talking to you :('
'Oh... Can I ask you something?'
'Sure.'
He hesitated with what he was writing, and then erased it and wrote something else: 'Nevermind.'
At that point, I heard my mum going up the stairs, so I quickly shoved the papers I'd been writing on into the bin and plopped down face-first on my bed. She didn't come into my room however, and just did something up here and then went back downstairs. Now I jumped back up, going back over to the window, but Zayn was gone. I sighed as I followed the water droplets from the rain run down the windows, and thought back to what I'd said earlier.
Was I really falling in love with him?
