Zayn's POV
I strode into the cafeteria to supervise the students and I noticed Harry and his friends chatting it up. I knew all their names by now; Niall, Liam, and Louis. I also knew by now that Niall laughed at everything, Liam was responsible, and Louis was regularly sent to the Principal's office because of his everyday antics.
I was walking close behind them, but they didn't seem to notice me. I started trying hard to hear their conversation when I heard my name. Yes, I was eavesdropping. Don't look at me like that! You can't say that if you hear your name in a conversation that you aren't eager to hear what's being said. I wanted to know what they were saying about me.
I tried to be as nonchalant as possible to make sure they didn't see me, and almost burst out laughing when I heard them squeal and giggle like teenage girls gawking over their favourite male celebrity.
"I'm serious," Harry said firmly. "I don't."
"Yeah, yeah, you can deny all you want." Niall laughed.
"But something you can't deny is that he's extremely hot." Louis added.
"That's true..." Harry admitted. "I never denied that anyways, now did I?"
They all laughed in unison and I raised an eyebrow. It was almost definite they were talking about me. It was sort of weird to have my students calling me hot - but I wasn't necessarily freaked out by it. I was called hot by students before. Oh, why does it make me feel weird this time then, you ask? The thing is, I've only ever been called hot by girls. Never male students.
I passed by a few girls at a lunch table and they waved at me. I waved back and flashed a smile and I watched as they started gossiping and giggling when I left. I got somewhat startled when Niall begun to speak again, and listened in. I tried to pretend I wasn't listening or paying attention as they were grabbing food and chatting.
"You're so lucky to have such a gorgeous neighbour." Niall said. "I hate you."
"Hate you too." Harry said and chuckled lowly.
"I'm with Niall on this, Haz-" Louis shrugged. "I probably hate you more than him right now."
"Haz," Niall continued, setting a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Don't be surprised if I ask to come over A LOT more."
"Me too!" Louis added.
"I won't. Oooooh, I hope it gets hotter out. Then Zayn might just appear outside shirtless. Maybe he'll fix his car and cut the grass without a shirt just like in Call Me Maybe, and it'll work out this time."
All of them laughed and I tried hard not to stifle a snicker. I decided to jump into the conversation and give them a little scare.
"Now that you say that, maybe I will." I smirked.
Them practically jumped and stared at me. "Oh, Hi..." Harry said awkwardly, and Louis and Niall said nothing, only stared at me. Louis' mouth was open like he just saw an extremely hot girl walk out of her house in a skimpy bathing suit.
I reached my arm towards him and used a finger to close it.
"Keep your mouth closed, Louis." I said.
"S-sorry." He said and it seemed like he never blinked.
"Um... how much of that did you hear?" Harry said, laughing a little in between.
"Everything after 'I hope it gets hotter out'." I lied
"...Awkward." He said quietly and pretened to scratch his back.
"Just a little."
