~Alpha/Percy POV~
I can't believe this. The gods knew what Matthew had done to me. The gods knew I hated Camp Half-Blood with every bone in my body. I'd finally started to feel at home with the hunters, and Zeus forces me to stay at Camp. Worse, as a servant and protector to the people I would sooner see killed; fatal flaw or no fatal flaw.
At least I could still hold mental conversations with Thalia and Artemis, but how was I supposed to survive a year in that horrid place!? They might as well have just left me to rot in Tartarus, it would have amounted to the same thing; at least then I could've kept my dignity.
Dionysus strolls up to me, sneering.
"Come along, Peter Johnson, or is it Albert now? Welcome to my life." he laughs and flashes us back to Camp, where I quickly phase back to wolf form before anyone can see me. "You can stay in the Artemis cabin I suppose, although I wouldn't recommend going inside unless you want to be castrated."
"Thank you, Lord Dionysus, I look forward to working with you," I spit at him, and he glowers before flashing away in a cloud of purple smoke. Well, there's no doubt Zeus is his father. Thunder rumbles in the distance.
"Oh, shut up, drama queen!" I yell at the sky, probably looking like an idiot, "you know it's true!" Cue more thunder.
I lay on the front porch of the big house next to the rocking chair where Chiron usually sits, when Apollo suddenly flashes in, a hand on Matthew's shoulder. Apollo quickly releases him and wipes his hands on his pants, as if to remove something dirty, smiling sadly at me.
"All done, oh and Alpha, please try not to maim him again," the god of the sun says in a cheery tone, though I can hear the note of warning in it. Could he be genuinely concerned about me? I wonder, feeling surprised yet touched, he does always say I'm his favorite cousin.
Matthew arrogantly struts up to me, bowing towards Apollo, "come along mutt, I have sword fighting practice and you have to come. Not that I need protection since I'm so awesome at the sword - way better than Percy Jackson - but orders are orders, and Father said..." I tune out after that as he rambles on and on about how amazing he is. Poseidon might be a douchebag, but he's still better than Zeus.
Matthew strolls away towards the arena, and I pad after him. Naturally, the chain is still there from when I lost control in the throne room, so now he can drag me around whenever he wants. Yay! (note the sarcasm, please and thank you) A group of his 'friends' were already there, and they quickly greet him before one of them spots me.
"Why is Artemis' guard pooch following you around?" he asks, and I growl at him.
"Stop it, Alpha!" he yells at me, and - very much against my will - I stop growling, though I glare at both of them. "Sorry about him, he's such a bad dog sometimes-" I leap at him with the full intention of killing or at least seriously maiming him, but of course, "Alpha, sit! Alpha, stay!" and down my backside went.
"I am not a dog, and as soon as this year is up, I will tear you limb from limb." I snarl -- although the threat is much less effective when sitting on the ground with sand coating your body.
"Just for that, you're sleeping outside tonight. Now, as I was saying, we've just come back from the Olympian Council. My father cares so much about me - and he was so angry at Alpha here - that now he's my dog for the rest of the year."
His friends congratulate him, and the younger ones look at him in awe. I guess it's not every day you see a werewolf that won't kill on sight; much less one that obeys a demigod of all things.
