"I don't understand why.." I furrowed my brows in confusion, staring at Thomas until he continued. "Why you always choose him! Why I'm just a backup to you, it's like you don't even see me constantly trying to love you, every single shucking day. It's like you don't even notice me." 

                          
"You know that's not true, Thomas.."

                          
"Then tell me how you feel, tell me the truth because I really can't see anything else right now but that. God, please don't love me just because you can't love him, Penelope. Don't do that to me, please." Thomas' eyes glazed over with fresh tears as he stared at me with a newfound intensity that stunned me to silence. 

                          
"If you don't want me, walk away from me, because I can't keep fighting for you while you fight for someone else." His voice cracked while he spoke, and I couldn't find the heart in me to walk away.
