penelope has ARIS stitched into her jacket, she did it herself so that she'd never forget him, even in the maze, although she also did it because it was his own jacket (:

                          
she's also named after penelope fitzgerald, the intellect. i thought it'd fit in with the story better

                          
i never necessarily decided on her subject number, but it was something like A(?) The Lover. which i guess it's fitting and all but it never really popped out to me so yeah (:
