~Karma's POV~

On the drive home me and Joey didn't talk, instead, he focused on the road, caressing my thigh as I listened and watched as the raindrops hit my car, by now the time was 23:14 so I was getting a little tired. The low hum of the car made me smile and I turned to watch Joey as he drove. I thought to myself as I watched him drive with one hand on the wheel, he had taken his suit jacket off and his hair was a mess by now from the number of times he had run his hand through it. I thought how lucky I was to call this man my king, I know we have only been going out for a few days but it felt as though I was with the person who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. The one person that could call me down, the one person who I want to raise children with.

He takes his eyes off the road for a second and looks at me, laughing when he sees me already staring at him.

"Are you ever going to tell them?" He asks, his tone serious now

"About what?" I gulp, knowing exactly what he is talking about

"About you, being targeted," He explains

"I will only tell them if it becomes a problem," I whisper

"Karma, this is a problem and you know it, people are out there right now, willing to pay 100 million for you to be dead!" He yells, I shrink back in my seat and move his hand off of my thigh.

"Joey I know-" I start

"NO you don't fucking know, you don't know what it is like, to have your best friend risk their life every single day, you don't know what it is like to watch you suffer in hospital beds every fucking week!" He yells cutting me off

"Joey, everything I fucking do is for you and the sake of other people!" I shout, "I am sick and tired of being weak! That's why I am like what I'm like, when I work is the only time I get to be the real me, the strong me who doesn't give a flying fuck what people think!"

"Why?" He whispers under his breath

"I'm fucked up, and you knew that before you decided to kiss me," I shrug

"We're both fucked up, which is why we are the most powerful people in every room, the most notorious assassins in the world, and yet somehow we still find ways to be gentle with one another," He says and I nod.

About 5 minutes later we pull into my garage and climb out. Hand-in-hand we walk into my house and to the kitchen.

"I'm hungry," Joey whines

"When aren't you?" I laugh

"Never..." He says, dead serious

"All right, calm down, what do you want?" I ask

"Churros!" He squeals

"No, that is not dinner," I scold

"Please?" He begs

"Nope," I state, crossing my arms over my chest as he sits down and I walk over to the other side of the kitchen island.

A loud bang from the garage makes me and Joey jump.

"Let's go," I whisper, pulling out my gun from my waistband as he does the same

"Great minds think alike," He smiles

I pull off my heels and start to walk towards the garage, we get there and draw our guns.

Turning around the corner I look to my left to see Joey still aim his gun towards the door, I move closer to it and give him a nod.

I kick the door in with my foot and storm into the garage, both mine and Joey's guns drawn.

"Hands up and drop what the fuck your doing," My voice booms

"Woah little sis calm down," Aiden puts up his hands

"Are you fucking kidding me!" I yell, flipping the safety back on my gun.

"You broke the fucking door!" Eli yells

I turn behind me and look at the door, its hanging off its hinges and I go to high-five Joey but see him running towards one of the cars, I follow him and run through yelling at him to stop.

"What are you doing?" I shout, trying to catch up to him, darting between the parked cars until I see what he is running at.

"Joey..." I whisper

I see him, hugging a scared Melissa, why the fuck is she here.

He lets go of her and hugs Daniel.

Mimi beckons me over, I drop my gun to the floor and run towards her, my tears threatening to fall.

"I'm so sorry," I whisper into her neck as she pulls me into a bone-crushing hug

"It's okay..." She strokes my hair

"No it isn't, you weren't supposed to find out like this..." I cry

"Karma... it's fine, I love you," she sniffles

"I love you too," I pull away and walk towards Daniel

Joey moves out of the way and runs into the house

"I'm so sorry Danny," I sniffle into his chest

"It's okay pumpkin..." He says, resting his face on my head.

"I love you," I whisper

"I love you too, nice kick by the way," He laughs

"Thanks," I giggle

"Go find my son," He says, kissing the top of my head.

I pull out of our embrace and run into the house, ignoring the calls of my family. I run up the stairs to the second floor and go to the gym. Opening in the door to find Joey punching a punching bag.

"Joey..." I say

"What!" he spits turning around

"I didn't know..." I whisper just loud enough for him to hear

"I know baby," He walks towards me and embraces me

"I'm sorry they had to find out this way..." I say into his chest

"It's okay, I just wish they hadn't seen me and my girlfriend with a gun in our hands," He laughs

"G...Girlfriend?" I stutter

"Yeah? I think girlfriend is fitting!" He shrugs

"Alrighty then, come on boyfriend, let's go explain this shit." I laugh and grab his hand.

"Where will they be?" Joey asks

"Fuck knows," I reply, pulling him through the house

About 10 minutes later we find them in Ace's office. I shove open the door and walk in holding Joey's hand.

"Hey bitches," I say, giving my cousins a slight wave

"Language," Danny scolds

"All right, calm down, don't get your underwear in a twist," I wave him off and let go of Joey's hand, making myself a scotch and Joey a Jack and Coke.

"Care to explain why Melissa and Daniel were here?" I ask no-one in particular

"Only if you explain why you were pointing a gun at us," Alex argues.

"Fine..." I huff going to sit on one of Ace's brown leather couches.
