"My name is Yuki Murakami, from the Murakami clan, and Yukimura in the Land of Hail. I come here to request residence in Konohagakure," I stated confidently. I stood with my legs parted and my hands on my hips.

The third Hokage leaned back in his seat, not answering. He seemed to be assessing me, so I lifted my chin to show just how unafraid I was, even if I was only twelve.

"That was quite the introduction, Yuki."

        "Thank you."

"Why are you no longer in your former village?"

"I am no longer welcome there. I had been accused of many crimes I didn't commit, and was given the option of leaving or facing punishment."

        "And your parents?"

        "They died on a mission."

He went quiet again, placing a pipe in his mouth as he thought. I glanced around the room during the silence, evaluating my surroundings. I stood in a large circular room, surrounded by both Chunin and Jounin alike. I wondered why there were so many ninja for a twelve years old, then figured they all had business of their own and I had nothing to do with it. I moved on to the windows, examining the buildings and the vandalized Hokage mountain. A flash of yellow zipping through the streets caught my attention. I stared until the Hokage spoke again.

"Alright, I will grant you permission to live in the village. I will ask if any of my Jounin would be willing to take you in until you have made enough money to buy yourself a new home. Would you like to be enrolled into the ninja academy?"

I nodded, looking back at the old man before me.

"Very well. I will need you to perform the clone jutsu, and the transformation jutsu in order to decide which class you are to be placed in."

I nodded again, getting into the proper stance to perform the transformation jutsu. With a poof of smoke, I was a mirror image of the Chunin to my right. When the Hokage nodded in satisfaction, I released the jutsu and prepared for the next one. A moment later, I was standing between two clones. I looked at each one, confirming they had my shoulder length white hair and blue eyes.

"Well done, Yuki. It would appear you are on the same level as our graduating class, so I will place you on one of their teams after the graduation test tomorrow. Until then, I will find someone to give you a tour of the village."

When he finished talking, I beamed. "Thank you, Lord Hokage."

He chuckled. "You're welcome, Yuki Murakami."

An hour later, I was walking next to a Jounin who was barely doing his job at giving me a tour. I sighed, staring at the ground as we walked. Not only had the silver haired man accepted the job of giving !e a tour, he had also agreed to take me in until I found a place of my own. I could tell I was more than likely going to take care of myself.

"You aren't paying attention," a deep voice commented, making me look up.

"Well, you're reading a book and I'm really bored. What are you even reading anyway?"

        "Icha Icha Paradise."

        "Oh gross, your reading porn?"

"It's not porn!" he snapped, glaring at me with his visible eye.

        "Oh hey, what's your name?"

He gave me an exasperated look, then sighed. "Kakashi Hatake."

"Right, I'll try to remember that. I'm horrible with names though so I'll probably just come up with a nickname for you."

He sweat dropped. "Then why bother asking?"

        "Cause I wanted to."

He stopped abruptly, making me look around in confusion to try and find out why. I was so preoccupied, I didn't notice him stepping into a house until he called my name.

        "Are you coming, Yuki?"

I blinked, then grinned sheepishly and nodded. "Yeah, sorry."

I stopped in my tracks when I was just inside the door, shocked at how clean the living room was. I looked around, taking in the cozy atmosphere. After a moment, I walked over to the couch and sat down.

"This is the most comfortable couch, ever."

        "I know, that's why I have it."

I looked up to see Kakashi's face above me. I grinned up at him. "Thanks for letting me stay here for a while."

He nodded, then disappeared. I sighed, assuming he went to go read that perverted book of his. I yawned, exhausted from traveling for so long, and laid down. As soon as my head hit the cushions, I was asleep.
