"He has no clue what he's doing." Jaemin said with a sigh after Renjun explained the conversation to him and Jeno that evening. Jeno and him were cuddling on the couch together while Jaemin cooked them some dinner for the evening. Renjun groaned softly.
"I know. I honestly worry for his wellbeing." The eldest whined a bit, throwing his head back against Jeno's chest with a small pout.
"And Mark's." Jeno added with a sure nod as he pet Renjun's hair carefully. The eldest sighed and relaxed, closing his eyes and humming softly at the feeling. Jeno just smiled.
"Don't get too comfy, dinners almost ready," Jaemin said from the kitchen. "Jeno dear would you come set the table? And get Chenle while your at it I think he's in his room." Jeno sighed and carefully moved a pouting Renjun off of himself so he could get up and do as instructed. Renjun got up a bit after and went to the kitchen to help Jaemin with anything else he needed, being instructed to bring food to the table once Jeno was done setting it.
"I just don't think him trying to force Mark into liking him is a very good idea. If he wants Mark to know he should just confess in my opinion." Renjun said a bit heatedly as he set the food on the table. Jaemin just hummed as he wiped his hand on a towel and walked over to the table. He and Renjun sat down, now just waiting for Jeno and Chenle to come downstairs.
"I'm sure Hyuck isn't too dumb, he wouldn't force Mark into anything he didn't wanna do." Jaemin reasoned, already starting to serve food for Renjun and the others. Just then Chenle came running down the stairs, sitting quickly in one of the chairs. Jaemin just smiled and laughed a little. "Someone's hungry." He remarked as he set down the boy's food in front of him. Chenle nodded.
"Forgot to eat lunch." He answered simply before digging into his food. Jeno came down the stairs a moment later, less enthusiastic but looking pleased nonetheless as he sat on the other side of Renjun to create a Norenmin sandwich. Chenle just looked up and rolled his eyes. "You three are too much sometimes." He remarked with his mouth full of food. Jaemin just laughed as he handed the next plate he served to Renjun and started to get one for Jeno too.
"You're just jealous that Jisung isn't here." Renjun teased as he started to eat.
"I'm not," Jeno remarked with a huff. "You're so loud when he's around." He explained to the youngest, who just frowned. Jaemin nodded in agreement as he gave Jeno his plate and finally got some food for himself.
"I'm pretty sure Mark can hear it from his house all the way up the road." Jaemin agreed. Chenle rolled his eyes.
"You two aren't much better, but at least mines just laughter and not unholy sounds." The youngest retorted curtly. Jeno almost spit out his water and Renjun turned beet red, Jaemin just giving another laugh as he continued his food.

"Honestly hyung, I was just joking. You should just tell him you like him." Jisung said, taking another drink of his lemonade and looking at the older. They had moved out onto the patio shortly after Renjun had left, Jisung sitting on one of the chairs and Haechan leaning a bit over the railing as he watched the street. He just hummed and nodded.
"I know." There was a silence between them and Jisung didn't miss the way Haechan watched the road expectantly. He looked at his feet and took in a breath as he thought of the right words to say.
"You know, I used to wait for my dad to come home too, but then I realized it kinda just made it hurt worse." He said carefully. Haechan let out a long breath at that, letting his head hang for a moment. He knew that the younger didn't mean to make him feel upset, and knew he was just trying to comfort him somehow, but he wasn't very good at it. It just made a small bit of him jealous of the younger, because at least the younger still had one parent. At least he wasn't left behind like some unwanted pet to wonder what he did wrong.
"I think you should go." Haechan said softly with a nod to himself before looking over to the younger who pressed his lips together and stood.
"O-okay. Sorry." Jisung said quickly, opening the sliding door to head inside and leave. "Night hyung." He said over his shoulder as he left. Haechan didn't respond, just letting out another deep breath as he looked at the night sky. He wished he understood why his parents had just up and left one day, but it had its perks, one of which being that he didn't have a curfew, so he took advantage of that most nights, including tonight. As soon as he figured it had been long enough for Jisung to have gotten home, he grabbed his jacket and his keys and headed out the door.
It was a long walk, but he was determined to get to where he was going.
He ran most of the way there, and once he got there, out of breath and panting as he stood in front of the house, he knew all that running was worth it. He grabbed a pebble off the ground and threw it at one of the windows, landing it right on with a loud 'tap'. It didn't take long before the window slid open and there in the window stood exactly who he wanted to see.
"Haechan? Wait gimme a sec lemme come down." He whisper-shouted, closing the window and disappearing. A couple of minutes later the door was opening, and Haechan couldn't help the wide-ass smile on his face.
"Mark Lee, the man the myth the legend." Haechan said happily, already beginning to walk down the street with the older coming up at his side.
"Is something up?" Mark asked, handing Haechan a piece of mint gum as they walked. Haechan took it with a hum.
"Nothing in particular really just didn't feel like being alone tonight." He explained. Mark looked at him as they walked.
"You could sleepover at my place if you want?" He suggested. Haechan nodded. This wasn't a new thing, in fact, this was a pretty normal reoccurrence for them. It still never failed to make him get those butterflies in his tummy though.
"That would be nice." Haechan said with a dreamy sigh that Mark probably didn't pick up on.
They came to the bridge that crossed over the creek and Haechan sat down, dangling his feet over the edge and looking down into the water intently. Mark stood beside him and took in a deep breath, leaning over the banister and looking down at the younger.
"By the way, about that 'dinner and a movie' offer, if that still stands do you wanna go out on Friday maybe? We could go to the Marcus theatre and then maybe go to culvers for dinner after. Or we could go to Red Robbin maybe?" Mark asked, making Haechan perk up. He stood up and excitedly nodded at the older.
"Yea, I'd be down!" He said enthusiastically. He was finally gonna get his own little date with Mark. Just him and the older enjoying some time together alone. Mark smiled, pulling out his phone.
"Sweet! I'll ask Jeno if he wants to come too."
