To The Stream

It's been about 5 months since I've started talking with Norton. We do the same thing everyday, he's outside looking for stones, I'm getting ready for the day. I recently got a job at a cafe in town. Its peaceful compared to a business job, which I like.

I got up and did the usual, get out of bed, shower, eat, and go see Campbell. But today he wasn't here. I texted him.

Are you busy today?

Norty
Ah no
I just woke up late

Me
Oh alright, well I'm waiting out here

Norty
Actually, would you like to come over?

Me
Sure, why not

Norty
Alright, I'm not that far so you can walk

I walked for about 7-10 minutes. When I reached the house it was surprisingly larger than I expected. The door opened and I saw Norton there as if he was a dog waiting for his owner.

" Ah- hello Norty- AHEM I mean Norton. "

'AHHH WHY DID I CALL HIM THAT I CAN'T SAY THAT IN FRONT OF HIM--' I thought to myself, panicking.

" Pfft- Norty? " He chuckled at my mistake.

" Shhhh. You didn't hear anything. Anyways, can I come in? Its steaming out here. " I said as the summer heat made me sweat.

" Yes, yes. Whatever you insist, Subedar. " he opened the door wide so I could get in.

As soon as I stepped in the house I saw the living room and dining room. I took off my dirty combat boots and set them on the shoe rack.

" Well, what are we gonna do while I'm here? " I asked.

" I have some board games, we could watch tv--uhm... " Norton held his face with his hand as he thought about more things we could do.

" We could go outside. " I suggested while looking out the window.

" Ah yeah! But I feel like we're always outside.. uhm.. Oh! Do you want to have a seat? "

" Uhm I think I'll stand... Of course I want to sit you idiot!" I jokingly said as I head to the couch to sit down.

Norton followed behind me.

" What would you like to do? " he questioned. " I have a few movies we could watch. "

" Hm.. I'll watch a movie. I don't know any good ones so you can choose. "

" Alright. " Norton got up from the leather couch and grabbed the remote. He played a romance movie called [uhh yeah insert title of romance movie here]

TIME PASSES AND THE MOVIE IS OVER

Norton looked at me and I looked back at him, we stared at each other for a few moments before bursting out laughing. I'm not sure why we were laughing, maybe it was the few moments of awkward silence or how the end of the movie ended with the woman kissing her lover out of the blue and then a weird time skip happened to when they got married. Either way, I was enjoying my time.
