I watched the scenery go by as we pulled out of the parking lot of the hospital. It was time for me to go home to my new life without my parents.. A tear slid down my cheek as I cried silently. I thought about the dreadful future that life has waiting for me. Why must this happen to me of all people?? I am a nice person, I never did anything wrong! I believe in God, I follow all the rules, I make good grades.. So why God!? Why!?

I kept asking myself these questions when I heard the radio turn up. I turned towards my brother and he glanced over at me and smiled softly. This song.. I know this song.. It played right before my whole world flipped upside down, literally.. the car flipped. It was our favorite song, it's called "The chicks dig it"; it's actually a pretty funny song! If you listened to the lyrics,I guarantee you would laugh your ass off!

We pulled into the driveway finally, and I stared at the quaint little farm house in front of me.. 'Home' I thought to myself. "Abigail??" I snapped back to reality when I saw big hands waving in front of me, and Duane was standing there with the passenger side door open. I stumbled out as I walked up to the house of my childhood. I was numb.. I couldn't believe it would just be me and my brother living here.. Wait! What grade am I even in!? I've been asleep for 2 years, that would make this my junior year of high school! What the actual fuck!?!? I'm going to be the talk of the school.. I just know it! I wish I didn't even have to go to school.. But I'll have to face reality eventually..

"Welcome home baby sis!!" I was wrapped in my big brothers arms as soon as he shut the door behind us. I just stood there silently, letting it all sink in. "Say something!" he begged me. I looked at him and said "Something" with no emotion on my face. He chuckled lightly and said "Mom used to say that all the time.. She was such a smart ass!! Our dad too.."

That put a slight smile on my face as I thought back to the good days.. My goofy parents. I looked at Duane and smirked. "Wanna race?" I asked and took off up the stairs! I heard his throaty chuckle as he got up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I started giggling uncontrollably as he dropped me onto my fluffy bed and started tickling me! "Duane!!!!!! Duane stop!!!! *Gasp* hahahhahahahhahahahha Duane Christopher Julsgard for the love of God *gasp* stop!!!! I*gasp* can't *gasp* breathe!!!!"

After what seemed like hours, he finally stopped and went over to grab my bags. "Lets get to unpacking Abby!"

***The next day***

Bzzzzzzzz!!!! Bzzzzzzzzzzz!!! Bzzzzzzzz!!

I slapped around on my bedside table with my eyes still closed. What is that sound coming from!? Finally, my fingers touched Something vibrating and I pulled the object up close to me. I squinted as I opened my eyes so I could shut the damn thing up! I was not a morning person, if you couldn't tell. I landed my feet on the cold tiled floor as I got out of bed.

Today would be my first day back to school and I wanted to start fresh. Luckily I was the top student of my class with all AP courses, so I was able to skip some courses and start as a junior. I'm glad, I didn't want to be a 17 year old Sophomore.

I went into the bathroom, and stripped off my clothes. I turned the water on hot and hopped in. Mmmmmm, I relaxed as the hot water eased away all the tension in my body.

After a long, relaxing shower I went to room and looked for an outfit to wear on my 1st day back. I wanted one that made me feel confident and beautiful. Like I didn't just lose everything important to me. I picked out a cute blue Jean jacket with a black tank under it , and some light colored skinny jeans, paired with some glittery light blue converse.

My mom would love the blue in this outfit, but hate the girly nature to it. My dad, however would absolutely love everything about it! He always wanted my mom to be a girly girl, but she was always a Tom boy.

Finally I descended the stairs two steps at a time and grabbed an apple and a yogurt From the fridge. When I opened the door, I was totally unprepared for who I saw standing there with a smile on his adorable face..
