I arrive at the Blake household a little while after Bellamy and he is know where to be seen which I'm glad about because I'm not sure how long I could be in the same room without freaking out. Octavia seems to be ignoring what happened last night.
We are just talking and hanging out in her room when she mentions "oh yeah, I was totally smashed at that party last night. All I know is I woke up here this morning. Did you bring me home or did Lincoln?" I resist the urge to spit out my water as she says this because that means that she doesn't remember anything about Bellamy and I ending up together.
"I just helped you home" I smile back at her, trying to calm my racing heart.
"You're such a good friend" she ruffles me hair and I laugh. She rolls off the bed and stands up, "let's go get some food" and proceeds to drag me to the kitchen.
We enter the kitchen and my breath hitches in my throat a little when I see none other than Bellamy standing shirtless in the kitchen; nonchalantly leaning up against the counter, sipping some water with his classic smirk clung to his face.
Octavia groans. "Why do you always have to be half-naked like geez put on some clothes" I laugh and Bellamy playfully rolls his eyes at his little sister. Octavia then switches her attention back to me, "I'll get some ice cream, you get the spoons"
I nod and head towards the drawer and decide I can play Bellamy's game too. As I pass Bellamy I brush his sweatpants lazily hang from and, because I am close enough, I can hear him suck in a sharp breath. As I reach the drawer I shoot a glance over my shoulder and am met with Bellamy's, usually hazel/green now dark, almost black. I decide I need to get out before I do something I regret.
"Alright, I'll meet you upstairs Octavia" I see Bellamy out of the corner of my eye gearing up to follow me but Octavia yells back that she is right behind me so he turns the opposite way and I flop onto her bed and let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding in.
We continue eating our ice cream and Octavia shoots up which slightly startles me.
"I forgot to tell you but every year Jasper, Monty, Bellamy, Finn, Raven and I go on a camping trip. This year Finn isn't going for obvious reasons but instead I'm bringing Lincoln. Do you want to come?" She stares at me excitedly.
"Um... Yeah! Sure. Why not?" I force a smile because the butterflies in my stomach make me feel like I am going to puke.
"Great! It's tomorrow." She blurts out, bracing for my reaction and I choke for like the 80th time that day.
"Octavia! You gotta give me some warning" I yell at her playfully.
"I'm sorry! I forgot" she goes to roll over on the bed but proceeds to fall off the bed, onto the floor which makes us both giggle. I wonder to myself how, out of all people, I ended up being best friends with Octavia Blake. Octavia is strong, outgoing, and fierce whereas I am uptight, worried and indecisive. But what's the fun in having a best friend that doesn't push your limits?
I tell her I need to go and pack and will be back first thing in the morning. I head into the hallway and approach Bellamy's door. He sits on his computer, his back facing me. I creep up behind him, ready to scare him but he whips around, scaring me, and pulling me onto his lap. I squeal but quickly clap my hand over my mouth.
"Clarke? Is that you?" Octavia's voice comes from her room and we hear her door open. Bellamy's eyes lock with mine in shock and I dive out of site of the door right as Octavia appears in the doorway. "What the hell was that?" she questions, arms folded.
"Oh that was just a video I was watching" He quickly replies.
"You're nasty" She rolls her eyes and his smirk returns. She starts to head back to her room but stops right as we thought we were in the clear. "Oh, and about Clarke."
My heart stops and I can see his eyes itching to look at me. "Yeah?"
"I don't know what happened that night when you were at her house but I really don't want you taking her from me like you have with all my other friends."
"What are you talking about?" he sounds clearly insulted and his face screws up.
She starts naming names and he rolls his eyes. "And with each one of them you apparently 'broke their heart' so now they can't stand seeing me anymore. Once girls find out I'm your sister they magically want to come over and you are just fine with that." It's a classic sibling fight but my heart is hurting more and more with every word.
"You make me sound like some sort of womanizer" he yells back.
"You are!" she practically shrieks. "You just love getting it from a girl and then they end up hating me" She takes a deep breath but her voice still shakes as she finishes her sentence, "I'm just saying. Please leave Clarke alone." She continues down the hall and out the front door. Bellamy shoves his hands into his hair and I slowly come out of my hiding place, slightly shaken.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that" I can't think of anything to say which is new thing a for me. At my silence, he looks up at me, "Clarke? Are you okay?"
"Is it true?" I can't look at him for fear of breaking down again.
"Yeah but-"I let out a breath and shake my head in pure disgust.
"I just- I need to go" I head towards the door and he grabs my arm.
"I'm sorry. Okay? Let me explain." He looks into my eyes but I wrench away my arm.
"I need to pack." He sighs and doesn't try to grab me again.
"See you tomorrow Princess is the last thing I hear as I head out of the door.
