Chapter 12: Learning a Secret

We finally got home, well, back to Adri's mansion, but he is acting a little weird. The vibe that he is giving off is strange; however, it changes when he looks at me. I smile before lifting my bag over my shoulder before making my way over to his room. 

"So, where are you going?" I turn around to meet the blonde's eyes, feeling my heart race. His green emerald eyes peered down at me as if looking for something in my eyes. 

"To your room, where else?" Turning around again, I push myself up the stairs and into his room. Adri's room is as clean as ever, but I'm looking for a specific spot. The smell of Camembert is strong, but I ignore it. Going to my designation, I drop my bookbag and mask onto the ground. Flopping down on his couch, I let out a big huff. 

"What are you doing?" He chuckles before placing his bookbag somewhere in the room.

"What is up with these questions today?" I sit myself up onto the couch, peering over the back of it. 

"I was just curious, Angel-"

"Why do you call me Angel?" My heart kept beating faster, hearing the name come from my mouth, "The only person who calls me that is Chat Noir" Adri freezes, making my eyebrow raise.

"U-Um, coincidence?" He coughed out, "I'm going to take a shower-"

"Adri, wait-" But by then, he already ran to the bathroom and shut the door. I sigh in defeat before getting up. Something is going on here, and I am going to figure out what that is.

I push myself off the couch, looking around the whole place with my eyes. Again, the pungent smell of Camembert looms around the room. I started to hear the shower turn on, giving me about 15 minutes to look around without him here. I started off looking at his desk where his computer monitors are on. I turned on his monitors, seeing the pictures on them. 

The left one had a picture of his mother, smiling at me. My heart swole, knowing how much his mother meant to him. Turning my attention to the right screen was a picture with all of his friends. Mari, Alya, Nino, and himself smiling as Mari held up what I'm guessing is her phone. It looks like this was taken before I even arrived or even before I met Adri. He seemed so happy to be with them, wanting nothing else but to be by them. I smiled before looking at the middle monitor. 

I remembered this one. It was taken when I arrived in Paris. 

~Flashback~

"Are we there yet?" I yawned, trying to shake the tiredness out of my eyes. 

"Not yet, Miss Taylor. We still are ten more minutes away from Paris." I look over towards the voice, still trying to get my vision back from sleepiness. 

"Okay..." I yawned again, "Mae, can you please get me  some water?" She nodded before walking over to the bar station. I turned my head over towards the window that overlooked the water below. I was never fond of flying since I prefer to be standing on solid ground. 

"Here you go, Miss." I turned my head to Mae, who was holding a glass of water. I lifted my hand to take it from her before drinking the cold water.

"If you or anyone else needs something to drink or eat from the bar, they may do so. Just put it on the expenses tab for my parents." Her blue eyes widen before bowing down. "Also, you can call me by my first name. I've known you for how long?" I giggled before sipping the water once more.

"B-But your parents-"

"I don't see them, Mae. They are back at home, so please call me by my first name." I smiled, "Oh! If you guys want to purchase anything else when we get to Paris, you can. Here" Putting my hand into my wallet, I took out 500 euros and gave it to her.
