Chapter 5: Guns and Roses

"It's alright" I quickly grab his wrist, dragging him away to safety, "come on, we should go."

We quickly run through the maze of hallways, trying to find our way out into the unrestricted part of the school. Luckily I've been over here a couple of times, so I know where I'm going. Though this time is a little tricky since this time we were in the far corner of the school. In all honesty, I haven't explored that area yet, so at the moment it feels like we are running in circles.

"Where are you taking me?" I looked back at the guy and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Back to class" I turn my head forward and kept walking.

"You are not going to do anything about what just happened?" He suddenly pulls his hand away from my grip, shocking me. Stopping in my tracks, I turn around looking at the guy. His face turned, looking away with me with his hands in a fist- that gave me a clue that he was pissed.

"What do you mean?" I asked stepping closer.

"You are just going to drop me off at my class as if nothing ever happened?!" He yells, turning to face me, "that's not the first time that they beat me up! Just because I look in your general direction, Jonas automatically assumes that I'm a threat to him. I don't even see how he's into you in the first place-"

"Will you just shut up and let me help you?" I said looking at him hopelessly. His eyes widened, and his mouth gapes open at my response. I pinch the bridge of my nose out of annoyance, thinking on what to do next.

"Look" I let go of my nose and look up to him- since he's WAY taller than me, "I just wanted you to be safe in an area surrounded with people. It's less likely that Jonas would attack you with other people around." I sigh and turn around, having my back towards the guy.

"After getting you someplace safe, I was going to report the incident. Since we were in the restricted part of the school, they would at least get into trouble for that," I turn around to meet his gaze, "I thought it was best if I reported it myself since other people would be too traumatized by the incident. The last thing I want to do is to put them in a place that they don't feel safe or comfortable. The office for sure isn't one of those places, so I usually drop them off with their current class."

"Usually?"

"Yes usually" I laughed, "you aren't the first victim that I helped" My face quickly goes to worry when I didn't get a response.

"Um... Hey, are you-?"

"Carter" he finally says.

"What?" He turns his face away from me, but it's pretty noticeable that his face is becoming pink with embarrassment.

"My name is Carter, Carter Barlet," Carter says turning his face towards me. I couldn't help, but to smile when he told me his name.

"Nice to meet you, Carter. My name is (Y/N), (Y/N) Taylor" I greeted.

"Likewise"

"Well then, should we get going" I stated, grabbing his wrist again, "to the office we go!"

~*~ Time Skip: After School ~*~

I quickly jumped out of my seat and dashed through the door as soon as the bell rung. In all honesty, I'm glad that this day is over with. Most of my day was sitting in the office with Carter to report the incident. The principal took our report and our watches when he was finally done with us. By the time that we finally have gotten out, we only had one class to go.
