Artimus Academy: School of Magic and The Supernatural

Hi, My name's Jack and I'm a Mage. First off, let me tell you about the life I live in. There are forces in this world that wish to destroy humans, those two being Dragons and evil wizards which we call sorcerers. In order to protect ourselves humans learned magic and became wizards, mages are like wizards in training. Mages nowadays attend academies like Artimus, school of magic and the supernatural! That's My favourite thing to say. My best buddy Kam and I enrolled here a year ago and just got back from our summer break, ready to be responsible and kill things and I can't wait until shit begins to pick up around here.

After loading the last of our boxes of shit from our houses back at home into our dorm, Kameron and I decided to seek out. Our schedules.
"Who do you think you got for teachers this year, Jack?" Kameron said as soon as we exited our dorm
I shrugged and said "not sure, the only ice Mage is a familiar loving psycho, and the Lightning mages died while trying to draw power from a power plant, which exploded in his face" I replied
As Kam and I walked down the hallway, we noticed all these new girls attempting to carry a mountain of boxes down the hallway. One of the boxes was about to fall, so I quickly ran as fast as lightning, so fast I literally looked like a lightning bolt and caught the falling box.
"Thank you for catching that" the girl replied, her voice muffled due to the boxes in her face
"Ya, no problem, you still need help?" I asked
"Jack, we better hurry!" Kam yelled
"Yes please, do you mind taking the two boxes on the top please" she said
I gently grabbed the boxes and followed her into her dorm room.
I placed the boxes on the kitchen counter(the dorms are more like apartments) and began walking out the door.
"Wait, I didn't say thank you" the girl said
I turned around to see a blonde, average sized girl wearing a red hoodie and red sweatpants.
"It's no big deal, just trying to help out" I replied
She walked up to me and I looked down on her as she held out her hand
"My name's Tara, nice to meet you" she said
I shook her hand and replied with
"My names Jack, I'd take it you're new here?"
Kameron yelled out "Jack! We really need to go! Like now!"
I turned around to see him with a pissed off look
"I'm sorry, it was really nice meeting you, I'll see you around" I replied as I walked out of the dorm.

Kameron and I kept walking until we reached the main office.

I grabbed one of the tablets and signed in using my ID. I read the schedule that had been shown on the tablet, I had only one class. It was first response, this mean that instead of learning I would be graded on hunting dragons and protecting people from dark evil shit, and same with Kameron, I guess this meant that we had skill levels higher than the students that were in our grade, this was awesome.

"Jack, do you know what being on First Response means!?" Kam yelled as we walked out
I punched him in the shoulder and said "damn right I do, man, instead of learning through teachers, we learn in combat when we kill dragons, hell, we may even run into a sorcerer!!" I said
Kam held his stomach as it let out a huge grumble, he looked at me with an embarrassed look and groaned "I'm super hungry".

We walked out the door next to the main hallway to go to a food vender in the academy.
A half an hour later, Kam found a decent hot dog stand and went all out on them.
As we sat there and chatted, that Tara girl came over to talk to us, with a few of her other friends.

"Hey Jack" she said, this time she was wearing a dark red overcoat with a little flame on the shoulders.
I giggled and said "hey tara, what's going on?"
She sat down next to me and said "I'm just finding my way around the academy, I'd take it this is the guy that freaked out on you earlier"
Kam starred at the ground, oh I forgot to mention, he's got issues when it comes to girls, sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's funny
"Ya, this is my best friend, Kam, he's got a thing with girls, he's still an awesome dude when he warms up to you" I said
Tara turned around and waved at a couple people in the distance.
There were three of them, and they were coming towards us, I could imagine there was piss in Kam's pants by now.

"Tara, we've been looking all over for you, where have you been?" One of the girls said
"I got lost and followed the smell of hot dogs, only to find my new friends Jack and Kam" Tara said
I stood up and so did Kam, I then said "well Tara, I'll catch you later"
She grabbed my hand and said to her friends "this is the tall guy I was telling you guys about"
"Didn't you say he was cute as well?" Another girl said
She blushed and looked at me, I was kinda clueless but whatever, not the weirdest thing someone's said about me.
"Jack, this is my friend Hayley, she's an Earth Mage" Tara said
She held out her hand and she said "I like the combination of light and dark blue of your coat, you must be a water Mage"
I laughed and said "nope, lightning and ice, close though"
Another girl, which was also blonde stepped really close to me and tara said "that's Chloe, she's kinda weird, she's a Life Mage" as she sniffed my hand
There was a girl with a black overcoat with her hood up, giving a menacing look "the dark and brooding one is Selena, she's a shadow Mage, she's kind of a downer" Tara said
I didn't see kam anywhere, he probably fucked off.

"It was nice meeting you all, but I gotta find my friend, I'll see you all around" I said as I walked off
As I was walking, I saw this guy get jumped by a couple of mages, in a desperate attempt to get a good rep at this school, I dashed over there to see what the problem was.

"You mind telling me why you're jumping this guy" I said as the four glared at me
A short guy turned around and said "I'd leave if you know what's best for you"
I crossed my arms and said "hey short dude, I can easily tell by your from your little passi that all of your elements are shit, short man's ash, judging by the smoke you're emitting, the tall doofus in blue is water, look at him he's literally dripping water, the ugly girl over there, I can already tell you had no choice but to pick her I mean look at her, is obviously psychic, I can see the little symbol on her shoulders, Ya, I'm not blind, the dipshit in glasses, trying to look cool is a wind Mage, and a shitty one at that" I explained.
The dipshit in glasses yelled out "ha! Jokes on you Im a decent wind Mage"
I pointed at the Mage that was getting jumped, I gave him the sign to get out of here.
"Flash Freeze!" I yelled as I held out my hands, freezing them instantly.

Kam texted me saying "Jack, first response meeting by the gate, something about dragon sightings in Lorel, you'd better hurry."
Thankfully I wasn't far from the front gate, I dashed towards the front gate and within seconds I was there. There was only five people there, one of them being Kam.
I walked over to him and said "not nice to bail out when your buddy's not looking, Kam, I was worried, I also took out three dipshits and an ugly girl before they attempted to jump a guy, it was funny."
"Jack, we just got our first assignment, and we're taking care of The dragons in Lorel while the other four take care of something else happening in Hook, I can't believe we're going to kill a dragon" kam said in an exciting tone.
I fist bumped him and walked towards a carriage
"let's go! To Lorel!!"
