Impossible

When everyone that showed up at Hogwarts made their way to the Headmistress's office it nearly gave Professor McGonagall a heart attack.

"You're all dead!" McGonagall said staring in shock "Y-you- I- this- impossible" She said with a loss for words, how in the name of merlin where people coming back from the dead she thought at she tried to think of any possible way that this could be true.

"Minerva" Dumbledore spoke softly "Might I suggest that you use the truth serum, Veritaserum," He said, understanding how she was shocked. Remus and Tonks were both holding hands at this point they were confused, scared, worried, and well shocked, what the heck was going on? Lavender looked like she wanted to scream, she was just 17 a second ago, so how was she now 28-29? McGonagall came back with some Veritaserum with her and started to explain what they were going to do.

"Now, for those who don't know this is Veritaserum the truth serum. I will ask questions to ensure you are who you state to be" She said, once she finished speaking she motioned for everyone to get into a line, 'Dumbledore' went first.

"What's your full name?" She asked, he thought for a moment to collect his thoughts and then signed before he said his name "Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore" Dumbledore said. McGonagall looked like the world ended and then came back to life. "What happened to you in 1996?" She asked, Dumbledore took a breath and then began "In the summer of 1996, I was cursed due to a ring that would end up killing me"

McGonagall breathed in, that had to be Dumbledore. "O-ok, next," She said, moving her hand to the right, directing Dumbledore. Next was Severus Snape, "What's your name?" She asked "Severus Snape," He said in a skim tone. "What form was your Patronus?" She asked, Snape, sighed, he knew she was going to ask that so he said barely above a whisper "It's always been a Doe" McGonagall nodded and motioned for him to move over by where Dumbledore was. After Snape, the next person was Lavender Brown and she was followed by Colin Creevey. After those two it was Fred Weasley's turn. Fred stepped up and looked at McGonagall as if telling her that a joke was coming. "Alright, name?" McGonagall said with a bit of hope in her voice that it truly was her former student. "Gred Weasley," Fred said bowing, McGonagall rolled her eyes and glared at him to tell him to state his true name "Fred Weasley," He said giving in "What form does your Patronus take?" She breathed. "Mine is a Magpie," He said with a straight tone. McGonagall knew that this had to be Fred so she smiled at him and spoke softly "You may move over there with the other Mr. Weasley" Fred did as he was told and shuffled over to where the others were allowing Tonks to step up. McGonagall knew that she would only need to ask a single question to know whether she was truly Tonks "Your Name?" McGonagall asked. "Nymphadora Tonks, No Nymphadora Lupin, don't call me Nymphadora it's Tonks, Tonks Lupin, I'll get it changed," She said as her hair went from Pink to Purple and back to Pink. McGonagall smiled at this and Tonks moved slightly to the right letting her husband, Remus Lupin, answer the questions. "Name?" McGonagall asked Remus, didn't hesitate, and answered "Remus John Lupin" McGonagall gave him a small smile and went on "Patronus?" She softly asked "Wolf". He responded just as quickly as she had asked. McGonagall smiled "I don't know how this happened but I'm glad it did," She said.

"Mr. Weasley, Mr. Creevey, and Ms. Brown I'll owl your families" She smiled at them and then continued "Professor Dumbledore and Professor Snape I'll have you go to the old corridors" Turning back to Remus and Tonks she smiled "After I've owled their families I believe there's someone you two would like to see" McGonagall grabbed a quill and began to write to the families, first the Brown family.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Brown,

I'm happy to tell you that your daughter, Lavender Brown, has come back from the dead along with some others. I will be sending Lavender to Hogsmeade so she can wait for you to collect her. As well as that it appears that Miss Lavender Brown is the age that she would've been if she hadn't have died. Thank you for understanding.

McGonagall moved the parchment to the side and continued writing to the next family, the Creeveys.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Creevey,

I'm pleased to inform you that your son, Colin Creevey has come back from the dead along with some others. Colin will be sent to Hogsmeade so you can come to collect him. It also seems that Mr. Colin Creevey is the age that he would've been if things had gone some other way. Thank you for understanding.

"Miss Brown and Mr. Creevey, could you make your way to Hogsmeade?" She asked them as a couple of owls came and she tied the letters to their legs.

"Yes Professor," They both said as they left her office.

"Mr. Weasley, I would like you to go ahead and floo to the Burrow, if you will,'' McGonagall said. Fred was getting himself ready as McGonagall said "Not yet, allow me to inform them, and then you may go" Quicky she pulled her wand to notify the Weasleys, and just about 5 minutes later she smiled and said "Now you may go" With that Fred left and McGonagall turned to Snape and Dumbledore "Could you two make your way to the corridors?" She asked, Dumbledore nodded and led him and Snape out of the office.

"I assume you two would like to see your son?" She asked

"Yes of course!" Tonks said happily as she and Remus started to follow McGonagall out of the office. They walked till they got to the Charms classroom and McGonagall walked in.

"Yes?" Professor Flitwick asked when he saw her. "Could I have Mr. Lupin please?" She stated rather than asked. Flitwick allowed him to go and once they left the classroom Remus and Tonks saw him and were practically screaming in joy to see their son.

"Teddy, would you like to meet your parents?" McGonagall asked as she looked down at the boy. Teddy looked around for a moment confused as to why there were people that looked like him there so he nodded at McGonagall's question, "Yes'' he said softly

McGonagall pointed to Remus and Tonks and she said "Those are your parents" Teddy looked at her in shock and then looked back at his 'parents' he thought and then remembered the picture of his parents that Harry had given him. He grabbed the photo out of his pocket and looked at the people. Tears started streaming down his face as he realized. They were his parents. He ran towards them and the family embraced each other in a hug that felt like it should last forever.

This should've been impossible but it was happening. Teddy then remembered what Harry and Ginny had said to him before he left. They told him that they did something and if it had gone the right way then people should start returning from the dead. Hermione had told him that if people did then they should be able to come out of hiding. At the time Teddy didn't know what was going on but now he did and he understood what they had meant. Teddy's 'family' was going to come back to the public and his parents were here! Teddy had never been happier. The only thing he needed to do was write a letter to them and then everything could go to how they wanted it to be.
