The sea breeze felt wonderful on Tide's scales as he stood with his neck held out. He unfolded his wings so his scales could enjoy the cool feel of the air passing by his wings. It felt almost like flying to him, the wind against his wings. He always liked how it felt to fly, but this, this was better.
"What are you doing, Tide?" An upset voice broke the silent wind. Tide didn't bother to argue, so he folded his wings in and pulled his neck back to look at the dark blue SeaWing. "Why must you do that every time we're at the Dragon's Wing?" "Because, Seabass...It feels nice and relaxing."
When Tide turned towards Seabass, he looked up at the arch behind and slightly above him. It was their 'secret' hideout, since they accidentally stumbled upon it when they were way younger. It had the name Dragons' Wing for a reason. The mound of rock leans over (which leads into a cave) looks like a big dragons' wing, reaching over, slightly open.
"Seabass, don't be rude. Tide's just enjoying life, unlike you." Seabass turned to his left towards the voice. A light blue SeaWing was walking up with a look on her face that made Seabass hate her comment even more. "What are you insisting, coast!?"
"That you're an imbisule." Tide said with a grin, he quite enjoyed saying these things to Seabass. Since it'd be giving him a taste of his own medicine. "Oh whatever." Seabass said back."
"Yeah, anyways..." Coast said, facing towards Tide, but her eyes still watching Seabass turn and sit." We should be heading home soon, our parents would probably not like us returning late."
"Yeah, probably." Tide agreed.
"Ugh...I guess." Seabass murmered.
"Then get up."
"Yeah!"
Coast then looked at Tide, and Tide looked at her, both grinning. Tide nodded and right after Coast ran up to Seabass and shoved him so he fell of surprise. "What the!? Hey!!" He said angrily as he got up and turned. By this time, he saw Coast and Tide jump into the water with a splash.
The water felt nice and smooth across Tides' face. He and Coast dove into a school of fish when they got deeper in. That was when they saw Seabass dive in after them. He looked at Coast and she flashed the little patterns on her hind legs to say " We sure got him!!" He replied "Haha, yeah!!" With the patterns on his snout.
She swam ahead of him and he saw she signaled him to hurry up with the last few patterns in her tail. He did the same to Seabass as he looked back. Seabass didn't look too happy with what Coast did, but his expression showed it was as funny as it could get with him.
He turned back and saw that Coast was looking up. After a moment she slowed and went up slightly to the sea's surface. He did the same. "What do you see?" He whispered -after he lifted his mouth out of the water- knowing that flashing his patterns could alert intruders of their presence.
She didn't respond until Seabass popped his headout . Tide looked at him and then the sky. Seabass and turned to look around. "I thought...I saw..." She quietly spoke.
"Saw what?" He questioned.
"Another dragon."
"Another dragon?"
"Yes."
"But there aren't dragons out THIS far." He wasn't sure how to react to this. "How can you be sure??'
"I saw a large dragon reflection across the water, how can I not?"
"Hmm...Reasonable, reasonable..."
"So-"
"Guys!!" Seabass suddenly yelped as he dove straight into the water. He looked down before up at Seabass. When he looked up, all he saw was a pair of talons swoop by him. "Ahh!" He dodged just in time. "Coast!" He realized as he turned around to see a huge MudWing pulling her out of the water by her tail and neck with its front and back talons.
"Hey! Let go!!" She screeched as she tried clawing her capturer. Without thinking, Tide pushed himself out of the water and lunged himself at the MudWing. He gripped his side with his talons, causing the huge dragon to let go of Coast. As soon as that happened, he pushed himself off, forcing the heavy dragon away.
"Ugh!" It grunted. Before it followed his short fall towards Tide.
Tide dived into the water with a spin, making water splash in the MudWing's face. He stopped of surprise. Tide looked around the water, Coast was next to Seabass, who was looking at the surface quickly, following The MudWing hovering above, debating whether or not to follow.
Coast flashed her patterns quickly."What's going on!?!?"
"Idon'tknow!!" Tide responded. Suddenly Coasts' expression from confusion changed into horror. Just then, Tide felt a jerk and then a pain on his side. He saw something in the corner of his eye, something red. He looked and saw why Coast was horrified. He hadn't realized he was near the surface, so the MudWing was able to strike with a powerful slice.
Coast rushed towards him. He noticed that she seemed to move away almost. And then he realized he was being dragged out of the water by the MudWing. He regained feeling as he left the water, he hurt really badly on his side. He felt drowsy, and slowly turned. He saw Coast and Seabass being hauled out of the water by two other MudWings. Coast was fighting, back, but as the wing beats of the three MudWings grew louder together as they went closer to each other, things went slowly and turned dark for Tide.
Just as Coasts' captor came close enough, she blinked her patterns slowly at him. "T-Tide...? A-areyouo-ok??" He could tell she was scared. Every time she was, she 'stuttered' with her patterns, flinching some odd ones here and there. He tried replying but his patterns glowed weakly and were unable to be translated. He blinked one last time before all went dark and silent.
