Chapter 34- WC: Rakuzan vs. Seirin (4th Quarter)
Misaki's POV
Few minutes of break and it will be the deciding quarter. I gritted my teeth together as I close my eyes. I took a quick glance at Seirin's bench and frowned.
I faced my teammates. "Be ready." I warned. "Seirin's #4 will play despite his fouls. Seirin hasn't given up yet."
They nodded. I just stood there and let them rest. I look up at the bleachers and nodded at my cousin who's giving me a meaningful look.
*****
The fourth quarter was started by Tetsuya who did an ignite pass towards Hyuuga-senpai who was being marked by Reo-nee. He positioned himself and shot a three-pointer.
I pursed my lips into a thin line. Hyuga-senpai should not have the strength to do this because of his fouls. But.. Why is it that his moves are faster than before? Is that even possible?
And then suddenly, he screams ordering his teammates. I fought a smile. He's a really great captain.
Kiyoshi-san's voice can give security to the team. Izuki-kun's voice can calm them down. And Hyuga-senpai's powerful and strong voice is suitable for being a captain that can raise a team's morale. Seirin.. Is a very good team.
I focused back at the game and frowned when I saw Reo-nee holding the ball. Hyuga-senpai is the one guarding him. My gaze drifted to Kotaro-senpai and I knew immediately what he was thinking.
Hyuga-senpai.. Is looking at Reo-nee differently. He's staring at him but not completely.
Reo-nee goes for the heaven shot but Hyuga-senpai predicted it. I smirked. I know that it's a fake one. Reo-nee did the earth shot instead to make Hyuga-senpai be fouled out of the game.
My eyes widened when Hyuga-senpai didn't jump.
'He also predicted that?' I thought, shocked. Reo-nee missed the shot making me bite my lip as I stare at Hyuga-senpai with admiration.
I snapped out quickly and remembered that I am currently Rakuzan's manager and not Seirin's.
Eikichi-senpai and Kiyoshi-san were the ones under the ring and they're fighting to get the rebound.
I know that Kiyoshi-san isn't controlling his strength anymore hence his play got better. But it still worries me. His injury might get worse.
I inhaled a deep breath and focused back at the game. Kiyoshi-san got the rebound and did a full court pass to Kagami who lays it in.
I glanced at the scoreboard. 73-88.
"You're not that bad. I want to take you down." I heard Reo-nee said.
Hyuga-senpai smirked at him. "Couldn't ask for more," he says arrogantly before running.
I can see that Reo-nee is staying calm even though Hyuga-senpai keeps on outplaying him. But..
"Eikichi needs to calm down." Coach sighed. I nodded in agreement. "The difference between him and Kiyoshi isn't that big anyway," he added.
The match went on. The game was focused on Reo-nee and Hyuga-senpai's one-on-one. I frowned as I was watching them.
Hyuga-senpai has really improved. Not only him, but also the rest of their team. So this is what Riko's father could do.
I took a quick glance at Riko and saw her looking at the court, observing every moves.
I glanced back at Kagami and smiled unconsciously. This guy grew the most. He was trained by Riko's father and Alexa. I would've doubt everything if he hasn't improved but since he did, I can say that it's not that much of a surprise for me since I expected it already.
