29. Engagement party

Somewhere in South Korea, in a palace-like hotel far from any city, hundreds of mafia leaders and members from all around the world were staying. The occasion? The biggest wedding of the century.

Mark and Donghyuck's wedding was set to take place in a week, and in the meantime all the guests would stay at the luxurious hotel where the ceremony would also be celebrated. They had reserved a big hotel, so it allowed them to have as much fun as they wanted with privacy.

The couple had decided to have a traditional mafia wedding. That meant a week full of parties and the typical big engagement party. And since the Seos and the Jungs were two very popular mafias, and Mark and Donghyuck were very loved boys, there were hundreds and hundreds of guests.

Besides that, NCT had once been one of the biggest underground groups, meaning they had made many friends over the years. All the invitations NCT had sent had been accepted, so the big ballroom was full. Everybody wanted to be invited to the wedding of the century.

All of the guests were part of illegal organizations, some dedicated to weapons, some dedicated to drugs, but all of them criminals. But the mood in the air didn't feel dangerous. They were all big families and had beautiful friendships with each other. They were nice people. In a way, most of them lived more honest lives than some of the "important" people who made the laws in the world.

They were all inside the big ballroom, where the engagement party was taking place. There were dozens of shiny chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that lit the room giving it a really nice ambiance. The walls, the floor, every single one of the tables... everything was meticulously decorated. The theme for the party was white fairytale, the same as the wedding. And the room truly looked like a beautiful fairytale forest. Taeyong and Ten had really outdone themselves.

The two moms had been the ones taking care of all the preparations. Donghyuck and Mark had also taken part in the decisions, of course, but the young couple had felt overwhelmed and too tired, so Taeyong and Ten had put themselves in charge and the couple was grateful for that. They were having the perfect engagement party thanks to them.

The mafia tradition dictated that the engaged couple would sit together while the guests would cover them in blessings and give them their wedding gifts. And that was what was happening at the moment.

Donghyuck and Mark sat on two throne-like chairs surrounded by hundreds of wrapped presents. The guests were all scattered around the big room, dancing, eating, chatting among themselves, all of them waiting for their turn to bless the couple.

It was now the turn of Im Yoona and Ok Taecyeon. They both walked towards them with a smile, Yoona holding their newborn baby while the man held their gift. The two of them had been powerful mafia leaders and their union in marriage had shaken the underground scene.

Yoona was part of the most powerful girl mafia of all time, SNSD, and Taecyeon belonged to the 2PM mafia. Both were legends of the mafia world, and after they fell in love, they had decided to get married. They had had a huge wedding, but nothing compared to Mark and Donghyuck's one.

"It is really nice seeing you together." Yoona smiled sweetly.

"And I'm really happy NCT is back." Taecyeon said smiling as well. "I have some plans I'd like to discuss for the future, and-

"No business tonight! Today is a celebration!" Yoona interrupted her husband as he played with her baby in her arms. He then looked up to the engaged couple. "Seo Donghyuck, Jung Mark... May the future bless you with happiness and fertility. And may your family be filled with love."

"Thank you, aunty Yoona." Donghyuck said with a happy expression as he coed at the babbling baby. "I hope we can soon give little Sunny friends to play with..."
