Haikyuu fantasy Au: magic, chaos and Soulmates

Ch. 00: Pro-log

" A long time ago, the kingdoms of Haikyuu united themselves to overcome the forces of a corrupt king, who wanted to take over the kingdoms one by one. The kingdoms knew that, if they were to fight alone, they would lose to the evil king. So,the rulers of each kingdom met up and formed the lands of Haikyuu. With the new found allies, they fought at what is known as, " the Great battle". In the end, the evil king fell along with his kingdom. To celebrate his defeat, the rulers build the castle of Haikyuu. They promised each other to meet up once every few months, to discuss all sorts of matters. When the first meeting took place, each of the rulers received a magical jewel, witch possesses the power to give dreams, dreams of once soulmate. A soulmate is the person you will trust the most. The person who, when found, will stay by your side forever. Each jewel had the form of either an animal or a plant. Those later became the national symbols you see on each and every flag.So after generations of nobles who found the love of their life that way, it is finally your turn." ,

The man said, looking at the two boys in front of him. Kageyama Tobio was one the boys. He was a prince from a newly formed kingdom, who agreed on sharing the black, crow shaped jewel with the Karasuno kingdom. The five year old boy was  wearing a blue vest over a white shirt, both adorned with gold trimmings. along with that he was wearing a pair of blue pants and simple black boots. His raven black hair was sticking up a bit, but he didn't care. He was excited. He was finally got the chance to receive soulmate dreams. His mother told him countless story's of how other people found their soulmate, using the vivid dreams the jewels gave them. Each one was better than the last. He was sure he would get an awesome soulmate.

The boy next to him however, seemed not all to excited about the whole thing. His name was Tukkishima Kei, he was the son of the kings right hand man. The blond haired boy just did not understand why it would be so important to find once soulmate. I mean, his older brother did not find his soulmate, and he was doing just fine without one. So why should he find his? While the man in front of him kept talking about the past, Tukkishima kept on playing with the sleeves of his beige shirt. His parents wanted him to look good they insisted that he'd wear something a bit more expensive. so, now he wore a beige long sleeved shirt with a light yellow vest over it, black pants and shoes. After he decided he played enough with his sleeves, he looked around the room. 

The room was a rather small room, decorated with fancy tapestries hanging from the walls, each one depicting one of the magic jewels.The boys were standing in front of a glass casket, witch held the magical jewels. seated behind them were the princes, princesses and noble children of the kingdoms. The next rulers were seated at the front, the rest was sitting behind them. However, the only adult in the room was Takeda, who was still holding his speech about the jewels. All of the rulers had to leave early this morning and the rest seemed to be on edge throughout the day.The speech was nearing it's end, with Takeda opening the casket and retrieving the Karasuno jewel. The black jewel was placed on top of the now closed casket, giving of a mysterious glow. 

Both boys stepped closer, placing one hand on the jewel, since they seen such ceremonies before, they knew exactly what to do. Jet, they still patiently waited for the next instructions. "Now, repeat after me: Crow sleeping inside the jewel, i wish for you to grand me the dream in witch my soulmate will reveal themselves to me.", the teacher said. Kageyama and Tukkisima repeating the phrase soon after. The jewel began to glow bright, before two crows made of light flew out of the jewel, before landing on in front of them. Each them bowed their head before disappearing. It was silent for a moment, before everyone began to cheer. Daichi, next in line to the Karasuno throne, walked up to the two and congratulated  them. The rest of the kids soon followed. After everyone got a chance to congratulate the two, they made their way out of the small room and into the endless hallways of Haikyuu castle. To everyone's surprise, queen Iwazumi was waiting outside. She had a rather sad expression on her face. 

Did something happen? She gave a quick smile towards the children, before going to her son.She knelt down before she began talking: " Hajime, something happened. I need to talk to you in privet. Is that ok?". The young prince only nodes, before following his mother. Not even a second later , Ukai, head of the royal guard, comes rushing towards them. He stops in front of Takeda, giving him a quick kiss before turning his attention to the young royals. " Sir Ukai, you look upset, is something the matter?", prince Kuroo asked. Ukai looked at them sadly before answering:" Well, today we got a letter from the Sejoh kingdom, asking for help. They had been under attack for months now, but never requested help, so we didn't do anything. The letter that we received  this morning.... Anyway, point is ... once we reached the kingdom.... it was to late. The whole kingdom laid in ruins...... and the people. Only a few of them survived." " wh-what happened to the-" " They didn't make it.", Ukai cut Kageyama off ," Non of nobles were able to survive..." Everyone fell silent after that.

The only thing you hear was the faint sobbing of a young boy, who just lost his best friend.
