Maya isn't a normal girl. She is this eight year old little kid with a chubby face and rosy cheeks. And her signature white frock of course. The reason why I'm saying that she isn't normal is because she doesn't act like the other kids her age. She doesn't play with barbies nor does she play with tea cups or whatever the kids play with. I'm telling you, Maya isn't a normal girl.
She often likes to steal things. Like candies, toys, and other stuff from other people, and the surprising thing is that she's very skilled in her abilities. I don't think she's ever been caught. People do suspect it's her, but then they have no evidence. And at night, she hides behind trees and dumpsters and scares unsuspecting wanderers in the dark. She has a great laugh over it, but I think it's creepy. I mean, I don't think any eight year old kid does that, do they? In my opinion, kids shouldn't be allowed out of house at night, but then Maya is a smart girl. Smart, but not normal.
Sometimes I think she's not right in the head. A bit crazy, you know. But maybe it's just how Maya's personality is. Maybe she just looks at the world differently. Who knows what thoughts run through the mind of an eight year old kid?
But Maya isn't a normal girl.
She can hold a grudge pretty well too. If anyone hurts her or angers her, she is pretty sure to take revenge. Now you might be thinking, what can an eight year old girl do? Many, many things, I say. She always aims to annoy people, to frustrate them. And she really does an amazing job of it. She can hide your car keys, or puncture the tires. She can leave the tap open and flood your bathroom. She can misplace your important things, stain your favourite shirt, make your pets sick, break your precious vase and other frustrating things. And again, she never gets caught. She's pretty slimy and cunning for an eight year old girl.
Maya isn't a normal girl.
Sometimes you can see her dancing alone in the rain. But before you can scold her about getting a cold, she is already gone, giggling like the child she is. Sometimes you can see her playing with animals, or sitting under a tree, or swinging in the park, or feeding the ducks in the local pond, but before you can reach her, she is already gone. A pretty fast runner, I must say.
Years have passed and I've become old. But Maya is still the same as ever - still an eight year old little girl. She's rarely seen at daylight, but at night, she still walks around the town, still haunts this small little place. Many people are scared of her, but I laugh at their faces. A ghost, they call her!
As I told you, Maya isn't a normal girl.
(I know this story is too short, but I hope you enjoyed it.)
