I held my breath and knocked on the door. I waited for a while, but there seemed to be no sounds of movement inside. Maybe no ones home after all, this was a dumb idea! I should just go now...

As soon as I turned to leave, the door slowly opened, revealing Wally.

Ah dang.

"[Y/N]?" When Wally noticed it was me, he opened the door wider, "What are you doing here?"

He leaned against the door, hair disheveled and clothes wrinkled. Wasn't it already 1? Don't tell me he just woke up…

"Helloooo, can I come in?" I nervously waved a small hi, clutching my backpack with my other hand tightly. It's too late to back out now.

It seemed to take him a while to process my words, because for a good minute or two, the boy just stood there staring at me.

Wally anxiously looked behind him in the house, sweeping over it before turning back to me, "O-oh yea, that's f-fine."

I walked in, and stood awkwardly till he led me over to the kitchen table. I sat down on a chair, and Wally offered me a drink, but I declined. In all honesty, I was extremely thirsty, but I don't want to ask for water because then I'll drink it all and won't know what to do with the glass after. Wouldn't it be rude to just leave it on the table? And making Wally just grab my glass sounded so awkward….

My throat's dry! I attempted to clear up my throat, "Where's the family? Wanda home?"

"Uncle and auntie went out to g-get groceries," He glanced down at his lap, "I woke up late today sssso I was left behind." He disappeared into the kitchen, returning with a glass of water for himself. Dang, wish I didn't pass up on his offer. My poor throat...

Wally took a seat across from me, slouched over and avoiding my eyes, "Sooo, was there a reason for you coming over today?"

"Nope just for jokes." I smiled widely, trying to relax. This shouldn't be such a hard thing to do, ugh why am I so tense?

"Oh, um…" Wally looked down at his hands, then around the room again, "Sorry the house is a mess, um…." His eyebrows knitted in worry.

OKOKOKOK NOT FUNNY I WAS NOT FUNNY!

"I was just kidding!" I tried to laugh genuinely, take back my words, "I just wanted to tell you that I plan on leaving soon, maybe sometime next week." I paused, waiting to see how he'd react.

If he was asleep before, he wasn't anymore. He sat up straight, looking me in the eyes this time, "Ah, heading back home?" Before I could answer, Wally cut me off, "S-sorry! I don't mean to b-be nosy, you don't have to tell me!" He went back to avoiding my eyes, glancing around.

Ok, now or never now or never, "Actually, I'm going to Unova, and that's why I'm here. My friends all want to go separate directions, Dawn wants to stay here, Lucas is heading back and Barry wants to go to Johto."

He gave me a confused look, but was at least looking at me again. Ok, I can do this…

My hands felt itchy, starting to fidget them. I laid my hands flat on the table, "Wally, would you like to travel with me to Unova?"

The boy didn't respond right away, and nervousness took me over full blast, "I mean! You don't have to! Don't feel forced in anyway! I'm a tough girl with tough pokemon I can manage!" Please stop me. I beg of you to cut me off. The silence is unbearable!

Wally let out a cute little giggle, hiding behind one of his hands, "Yes! If you'll let me."

Yes he said yes! But did he really mean yes? "Are you suuuure?" I just have to be sure.

"Um, y-yea, yea!"

"Are you really sure?" I pressed, "I just don't want you to feel forced in any way."

He smiled at me, speaking in a steady voice "Its thanks to you that I could even begin my journey here, I feel like my battles with you helped me grow so much."

I felt flustered, "Ah Wally I didn't…"

He continued, a determined look on his face, "Please let me travel with you and grow stronger! Let's both grow together."

Heheheh! Couldn't have said it better myself! "I want that too! I know we haven't been friends for long, but I feel like we're always going to be friends," I smirked, "and you'll always be my toughest rival."

"I know I'm not as strong as you," Wally's voice got a bit shakey again, its determination seemed to fade away, "I started later but, if you think I'll just g-get in the way or h-hold you back…." Doubt.

"Nah man! Who cares when you started training, your talent is insane. I have had some of the hardest, most epic battles in my life against you!" I leaned over the table and placed my hand on his shoulder. Grown so much since I first met him, so strong, don't stop now, "You're not gonna hold me back or anything like that, in fact, you're just another reason why I've grown so strong too."

Wally's mouth made an O shape, and turned away from me, probably trying to hide the pink dusting his cheeks. He stood up, pushing in his chair, "Alright! I'll start packing now!"

I pushed in my chair as well, heading for the door. "One week from now, I'll meet you back here and we'll fly to Slateport City."

He followed me to the door, practically skipping, "I'll buy my ticket tonight! A-And keep me updated!" Wally seemed so hyped, I couldn't help but feel the same.

"I'll make sure to call you tonight with the definite plans and cost! But money shouldn't be a problem since I beat Steven up pretty good and took every cent possible."

Another adventure, new pokemon, new partner, new places,  just new everything! I can't wait to get to Unova! This was going to be so freaken fun!

I said my goodbyes, but before we parted ways, I was given one last blessing. Wally pulled me into a small hug, catching me by surprise. It ended as soon as it started, leaving me no chance to even return the embrace.

"B-Bye!" Wally shouted quickly before running back inside the house and slamming the door shut.

I smiled, another shot of pure bliss injected into my bloodstream. I released Staraptor and climbed on his back, holding on tightly.

Heheh, I'll just return the hug next week.
