They. Are. Not. Your. Babies.

Look, there's nothing wrong with low-key babying them. Sometimes they're too adorable that we can't help but to have the urge to protect them at all costs.

HOWEVER!

I observe how "babying" artists gets out of hand, when it comes to a point where it becomes a wall that barred them to date, have tattoos, smoke, drink, and basically doing normal things that we take it for granted. I see how fans just didn't allow them to have their own style and self-expression—instead trying to shape them to with the roots of meeting their preference of them. A.K.A continue to have them as the "baby" or "the cutie" of the group.

Do y'all see how disgusting is this? Because THIS is the DEFINITION of INFANTILIZATION.

The worst case is that this is coming to a point where fans refused to let their favs to take accountability for their own actions. Like how they refused to allow the former member of AB6IX Youngmin to take accountability of his DUI incident—instead, they said that agency should've "suspended" him, among other defensive points the fans had mentioned in Twitter.

Truth is, DUI is a serious offence for a reason. He was at the potential risk of hurting himself or even cause severe road accidents that could kill someone instantly. In this case, he was irresponsible and reckless to even drive while being intoxicated in the first place. So obvious as it may seem, he has to face the consequences of his actions whether we like it or not—even to the point where he had to leave the group to save its image.

Most of you tend to forget that they are fully grown-ass adults who must take responsibilities for their own mistakes and actions. Defending your favs to the point of harassing and bullying the opposition party when you didn't bother to consider and investigate all sides of the story is just plain ignorant and immature to say the least.

The root of this issue is as simple as infantilization of your favs. Meaning, you see them as "innocent" or perceive them based on their persona that was marketed towards you.

Hate to break it to you, but they are not what you think they are. Please do yourself a favour and take advantage of the internet by researching more instead of jumping into conclusions.
