When I asked my K-pop friends about the rules that stans should follow, they strictly emphasised on this rule a lot more.
I understand why.
Just because you don't like girl groups in general, or a certain group or their songs/concepts that does not appeal to your taste and/or preferences, doesn't mean you should treat them with all sorts of hate as if they're obligated to follow your way of style or concepts.
From what I know, they didn't have anything to do with you personally, am I right?
I don't care if they're very popular or not, male or female, fits into my taste or not. They're a K-pop group with dreams to lead—they're human beings and has a role to play within the industry—and they should be respected at all times regardless of anything above.
You don't have to like or love them. You just have to respect them as artists.
