You were 17 when you realized you were in love with Niall. It took him a year to realize the same thing, therefore you didn't start dating until you were both 18. Niall was already a member of One Direction, but you were still in high school. You spend every chance you could together. Niall traveled most of the time so FaceTime was your main way to see each other. He wrote you letters and sent you post cards of the amazing places he had visited. You were so proud of him. School came and went and summer finally arrived. Niall had promised to fly you  out to see him as soon as you graduated. You couldnt be more excited. "(Y/N)," a familiar voice yelled from across the school yard as you stood in your cap and gown talking to your fellow school mates. "Niall," you whispered to yourself as you turned your head to reveal your sweet bofriend. You both began to run towards each other, Niall catching you in his arms and spinning you around. "You came," you cried into his shoulder, so happy to see him. "Did you really think I would miss this?" he said before kissing your forehead. "Plus I didnt want you traveling alone to meet me. You all packed?" "Ive been packed for weeks," you grinned. You held Niall in a tight hug for several minutes before letting go. "Im so happy to see you." "I know, Princess. It was so hard not seeing you everday."

You and Niall didnt stick around the school long, because you had a flight to catch. You said your goodbyes and quickly headed off. Traveling with Niall was indescribable. Everything was so pretty. Your favorite part was watching Niall doing what he loved every night. You were glad that you got to spend your one year anniversary with Niall before heading off to college. College scared you but you were very excited about starting a new adventure. Niall had been acting funn for the past few days. You were at dinner for your anniversary when you decided to bring it up. You would be leaving tomorrow to go home and pack for college. "Niall. Is everything alright? You've been acting strange lately. You wont look me in the eyes anymore and you just dont seem to enjoy when we kiss," you asked hlding onto Niall's hand. His head fell and he stared at his shoes. "I think we need to end this," he mumbled under his breath. "What?"  you askedin disbelieff. You thought he was as happy as you were. "Get real, (Y/N). I travel a lot and you are going to college. There is no way we are going to have time for each other, so I think it is best if we just end it here," he looked angry. You had never seen Niall this way. "Niall. You do not have the right to make the decision that we aren't going to have time for each other. I have made a schedule where I know I will have time to talk to you everyday. You cant do this to me." "Dont make this any harder than it has to be. I love you, but our relationship just is plausible," he kissed you forehead before standing up from the table. "Someone will be waiting outside to take you back to the hotel," he said before walking out, leaving you there in a puddle of tears. He still loved you. Why would he do this? A car waited outside to tack you to the hotel. You cried yourself to sleep. Niall was supposed to take you to the airport, but you decided to call a taxi instead figuring that Niall probably did not want to see you again. You left a letter for Zayn, Liam, Louis, and Harry. "Boys. I am sorry for not saying goodbye. I am not quite sure what happened last night, but I think it would be best if Niall told you. I will miss you all very much and I hope you will all stay in touch. Keep doing great things and never give up. Love you, (Y/N). P.S. I still love him.

The plane ride home seemed long and you did everything you could not to cry. You packed your things for college once you got home, and in two short weeks, you were already headed there. You hadnt heard from Niall, but the boys had called you to make sure you got home safely and to make sure you were okay. You broke down over the phone, but told them not to worry. "Time heals everything. right?" you had played. But two weeks felt like two years without him and the pain hadnt subdued any. You had to put it in the past and focus on college because it was now your future, even when you thought Niall would have been your future.
