The sun was setting, though the sun was still very much in sight – the clouds started to darken and slowed – as if time had slowed. The various voices of people filled the streets of New York, a multitude of conversations are discussing among themselves, speaking about their own lives as well. The number of lives that we're living in one area fascinated those who try to live far away from it – civilization may be a gift that one may be grateful to have, however, perhaps it is best to leave these people to live obliviously. A young boy nonchalantly as he thought this – his unruly blond hair slightly swayed up and down as he walked carelessly, severely glad that his thoughts had distracted him from this uneventful journey – plus the bad mood that would probably make him act much different than he already is. Despite this, his current stature and bovine face seemed like he was walking cheerfully – when in fact he clearly wanted to be in this cabin and fall asleep, not wanting to deal with anything anymore.
Those were the thoughts of Clovis – a son of Hypnos who was forced to get out getting some supplies in order to sew up pillows, apparently one of his cabin mates was a friend of a daughter of Hermes, which explained why some of their pillows were cut off their cotton. Needless to say, even if he was the sleepy counselor of the Hypnos cabin – there was no doubt that he was frustrated with the whole ordeal – can a demigod get some rest in the camp? Of course, when he realized this he knew that he should make this an excuse to get out and get some fresh air for a change, perhaps looking at the mortal world ever since he left – see what changes that it may have gone through since Gaea's rise. However, he immediately regrets his decision – he tries not to pass out on the sidewalk as he grips the bag of sewing materials in his bag – he was in such a bad mood he could probably kill a Titan – that was an understatement but you get the point. With a sigh, he makes his way to a shortcut that would definitely make his life easier – the faster it is to get to camp, the faster it is for him to pass out on those unstitched pillows without even bothering to sew them up.
As he passes an alleyway, he suddenly feels alert – as if something is stalking him in the dark – hissing at him to come over and inspect – in retaliation he cautiously made his way to his weapon, though not fully getting it out as he looked around his surroundings. Of course, his eyes make his way on the alleyway, squinting to see who was there and what was making him on such a high alert. Then he saw it, the scales of the monster's lower half – the slithering half that reminded him of a snake, her skin – as green as the shade of simple green apples – he grunted in annoyance, he did not want to deal with this right now. The lone dracanae looked at him at her side – surprised of such easy findings and a unique Greek God for a father – nevertheless, she smirks cunningly, inviting him to come and fight her – perhaps willing to be turned into a pile of golden dust, he thought. Unexpectedly, he accepted the challenge – willing to take her on the darkness of the alleyway – of course, he had no choice, he didn't want to fight her at the moment but he knew that she would grow impatient soon, seeing no danger or witnesses around him, and knowing that the Mist would most likely cover up their fight he charged with his weapon in hand, dropping the sewing supplies to his side - he could've lulled her to sleep but something compelled him to fight her and he doesn't know why.
"Son of Hypnos, are you truly worthy to take on a monster like me?" – She slithers as she dodges his attack, her words hissing the s sounds – "Perhaps all you could do is sleep all day and be useless."
Clovis muttered, already tired of this monster's insults, "Don't underestimate any demigod..."
"Oh, I'm not – I'm only stating the facts," she hissed as an attack hit her.
