"Love, I'm off to work! And please do take care of yourself, we never know what might happen anytime soon. You do get me, right?"

Reminded her husband, as he planted a soft kiss on her forehead. To which the woman smiled and nodded.

Her husband, Harold, was a great man, he was kind, daring, funny, handsome and even cute. She would always listen to her husband.

Especially now, since they're expecting.

After the man bid farewell to his beloved, the soon to be mother wobbled to her chair and began to read while softly caressing her swollen belly.

The woman, whose name was Sophia continued to caress her belly softly, whilst humming sweet songs to her soon to be baby girl.

Being the pregnant woman she was, the tendency of her crying wouldn't be that low, because higher levels of both estrogen and progesterone during the first trimester seem to be responsible for some mood swings, marked by irritability and sadness. And despite her husband's constant reminders about worrying too much, she couldn't help it. Plus, pregnancy is a major life change. She was going to be a mother for goodness sake.

Sophia felt as if she would be carrying the world on her shoulders. She was scared and excited at the same time.

She wanted her daughter to experience the best.

She even made an oath to love her daughter regardless of what she wanted to be or who she is. As long as it's the right thing.

The said mother gazed down at the belly she was caressing, smiling with red cheeks and glossy eyes, she whispered,

"Mommy's gonna love you so much. Daddy's going to too. We'll be a very happy family."

She then felt a small kick, her smile broadened, exposing her perfect white pearls.

She loves it when her baby kicks, she feels as if her beautiful baby was listening to her. And with one last hum of contentment, she closed here eyes and slept.

Well, that was what she was about to do, until her water broke.

Her heart began beating uncontrollably, she started taking long breaths. She reached for the telephone to call her husbands office. And after two insufferable beeps, someone finally answered.

And from then the story goes on.
