Type of oneshot: reader insert, fluff, platonic (sorry if you don't want it that way)
McGonagall and (Y/N) were walking down the streets of London, wincing at the feel of concrete beneath their feet. You suddenly stopped in your tracks.
"McGonagall, how about this place? It's amazing!" you said, eyes lighting up.
McGonagall laughed and followed you to the restaurant you chose. (Y/N) positively ran towards the entrance, excited for the meal she was going to have.
In fact, you wouldn't have been there if Dumbledore hadn't forced you, yet here you were, walking with your former teacher to the entrance of a cafe. You forgot all about this and skipped to the cafe.
McGonagall had trouble keeping up as she was not as young as she had used to be and not as fast as you. "Wait for one moment (L/N)," she said as she caught her breath.
(Y/N) laughed, the melodious noise echoing around the buildings, and some of the Muggles surrounding her stopped and stared.
As soon as McGonagall had caught up with you, the two of you entered the cafe, immediately being almost blinded by the bright pastel colors making up the interior of the restaurant. A waitress came up to you and showed you to your usual spot near the window, where the flowers were.
"Hello, my name is Rose, how may I help you two?" she asked.
"May I get a coffee with some pancakes?" you asked quietly. Rose nodded.
"I'll have the same," McGonagall responded.
At this point you were used to McGonagall occasionally dropping her formal tone, and the waitress nodded. You and McGonagall talked a little before the food arrived, and it turned out that you both had a lot in common: for example, both of your favorite animals were cats and your favorite flowers were roses.
As soon as the food arrived, the two of you ate in silence. There wasn't really enough to talk about since you were both bored. However, as soon as the waitress came back, you asked for two cupcakes, which she delivered quite quickly.
(Y/N) offers one to McGonagall, asking one simple question:
"Friends?"
