"Okay ma'am, I know. I know." I assured at the worried recovery girl who was fussing over me.

"I'm telling you again Kirishima! No binding for 3 days! I mean it! Binding with broken ribs will hurt you! You're lucky I sped up the healing process!" She yelled, shoving me out the door.

I laughed and smiled to myself as I walked out from the building to go back to my dorm. My ribs were sore and tender, but they didn't hurt as bad as before. Recovery girl gave me a special pain pill that she said would help immensely with it.

I pulled out my phone as I walked along the path I memorized to get to the dorms. I had a couple messages from my friends and people from class, asking if I was okay. None from Bakugo. My heart twanged with pain from the disappointment. Then again, I didn't need him to see me this weak. It's a good thing he wasn't worried.

A new message from Denki popped up, inviting me to hangout with him and Shinsou after school. I quickly agreed, happy to see my friends. I didn't know Shinsou all that well, but I was happy to see him. His quirk was so cool, even if it wasn't a flashy or a physical one.

I opened up the door to the dorms, and made my way to the stairs. I went slow, taking each step with caution not to over work myself. The last thing I needed right now was another accident to show everyone how weak and unmanly I was.

I sighed in relief when I opened the door of my dorm, happy at the familiarity. As dirty as my room might be, it was home. It was safety. I set my phone down on my bed and gently laid down, happy to be resting again.

I shut my eyes for a second, just thinking about nothing. My bed was so much more comfortable now that I was hurt and needed to rest. It was like a million clouds embracing me.

An alarm from my phone pulled me out of the hug from my bed, and I grabbed it to see what it was.

Big words reading SIGN LANGUAGE STUDY read across the screen. I completely forgot that I set it. I quickly stood up but grimaced at the pain from my ribs, and reminded myself to go slow again. I grabbed the notebook I had made for sign language off my night stand, and grabbed a stray pencil on my floor.

I went onto YouTube, and just simply typed the words "sign language" into the search bar. It probably wasn't the best route to go, but I really didn't know anywhere else to try and learn. A course of about 50 videos all from the same person popped up, and I hit the first one in the series. It was at least a start.

Their intro music rang throughout the room, then it immediately started into talking. I quickly opened up to the first blank page and waited for the teacher to begin talking about how to sign things. I was excited! It would be awesome to talk to Bakugo this way and show him that I was learning it for him.

"Okay newbies! Today's video is just about finger spelling, since that's a good area to start. Finger spelling is just signing individual letters with your hands." She explained in a signature bubbly teacher voice.

She started signing a few letters, and I tried my best to copy them with my own hands. It was surprisingly easy, which made me happy I was understanding it so well. I was excited to learn every sign so I could have a way to talk to him in case he ever went fully deaf.

I wrote down letters and their descriptions of how to sign them. While my right hand was busy writing the left was signing various letters the teacher was explaining.

I works through the whole 10 minute video, backtracking a few times if there was something I didn't understand or needed to go over again.
