my trans story (happy trans day of visibility)

41 5 2

When I was five
You called me she.
I loved pink
And dresses
And barbie dolls.

But at the same time I liked blue.
I liked playing with toy cars.
I liked to dress in 'boy clothes'
I didn't understand it at the time.

Then as I grew older
I explored the internet
I found the word 'trans'
I realized that's what I was
But then I denied it.
Thought I was non binary.

I lied to myself and said I wasn't pretty.
I lied for a whole year.
You'd be surprised.
The way I hid it was like a disguise.
Not trans, not trans, not trans, at all.

I figured it out.
I couldn't hide it.
I came out after a year
They accepted me.

"Addison, Addison, Addison dear."
That's not my name.
You know this.
"She, her, she, her."
It's he, him.

But there is support.
My friends.
"Hey Ace!"
"Yeah, he is a crackhead"

Without their support
I don't know if I could do it.
I made it to this point
Being transgender.
I am proud.
Proud to be me!

Hello. This is a small poem about me and my experience being a transgender male. My name is Ace and thank you for reading my poems so far. Any ideas on things to write about is always nice! I will take time to research anything I want to write about or get recommend. I love to write. It makes me feel like I accomplished something that day.
