I flicked the light on, hung up my keys and went to cook dinner before Charlie got home. I just finished putting the finishing touches on the grilled chicken when the phone rang. Funny, I didn't jump at the sound of it anymore. How one decision could change everything!

            "Hello?"

            "Bella? Is that you?"

            "Hey Jake. Are you ok? You sound worried."

            "Can I come over?"

            "Sure sure."

            "Bye."

I put the handheld back onto its holder. That's strange. It couldn't have been more than an hour since I'd left Jake in the car. Why did he want to see me again? Why did he sound so worried? This is not the time to start worrying about Jake! He can handle whatever it is, if it is anything at all. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

            "Bella! Bella open up!"

"Jake? What the? What are you doing?

            "I will be back in a sec, I just have to see something..."

With that he stormed past me up the stairs and to the left.

            Well that was weird. I took the opportunity standing by the door to think about my day. First I almost died, then I almost kiss Jacob and now this? It took him only 10 seconds and then he ran back down again. "Someone has been in here!"

I looked at him in confusion, what was he talking about? I never had anyone over but him. "Who...I mean what...what are you talking about?"

           

            "Vampire."

            "What are you talking about? The...th...the Cullen's left a year ago!"

           

            "I'm not talking about the Cullen's, if it was them I would know, we are quite aware of their scent. It's someone new! Come to think of it, we have found some trails in the forest recently. And also...Embry swears he saw a flash of bright red hair in the forest yesterday, though no one else did."

            "Red hair?" I fell to my knees, no oh no, Victoria was coming for me. Jacob was guarding me.

            We would all die.
