Okay, maybe I take back what I said about Yongbok.

Even if he might have looked at me like I was  death herself when we first met, he's actually a total sweetheart.

He offered me brownies, showed me pictures of his roommates cats, he's been totally cool. It's definitely a switch up.

"So why were you in New York?" he asks as he shows me more pictures of him and his roommates when they had a photo shoot with 3 cats. (I know this didn't happen but imagine if it did haha)

"My brother lives here, him and his soulmate have an apartment on the upper east side." I explain.

"Is she from Korea too?"

"No they met when he was studying abroad. They have the cutest soulmate mark story ever." I basically squeal just thinking about it.

Soulmate marks. The sign sent down from the universe that guides you to your soulmate, your other half, your complete cosmic partner.

Sometimes it can be a matching symbol that is marked on your skin on a random day, or a mark from birth that leads you to the person your meant to be with.

My brother received his mark the day he met his soulmate. The two were at a museum and just so happened to bump into each other, literally bump into each other. The impact caused a beautiful watercolor mark of the painting in front of them to appear where they had collided.

"Please, mine has to be more iconic." Felix brags interrupting my- well their story. "Well not mine, but I helped get them together." he explains.

The next 30 minutes are spent telling me the story i'm so much detail it feels like i'm listening to an audiobook.

The spine tattoo, the letters, the aggravating want for him to just step up and tell her already, the suspenseful ending.

Not gonna lie, his story does sound a little more theatrical. I guess it's cute, if you're into that kind of stuff. ('dear soulmate' on my profile if you are hehe;))

"Wow both her and my brother moved continents to be with their soulmates." I point out. "That's dedication."

"Would you?" he asks. "Move thousands of miles away for your soulmate I mean?"

"I don't know. I love traveling and going to new places, but setting down roots not in Korea? I just never considered my soulmate could be a foreigner." I shrug.

He just nods while staring at me again.

"What about you? Would you rather be thousands of miles away from your soulmate, or have it take as long as your friend to finally find them?" I ask.

"What is this grade 3? Would you rather, really?" he asks teasing me slightly.

"Fine, truth or dare?" I sarcastically ask. "Just tell me come on."

He shakes his head.

"Please." I stick my bottom lip out and try to puppy eye him into telling me.

"Would you like any coffee or water?" the stewardess asks before he was able to answer.

"I'll have a hot coffee please." he answers automatically.

"Me too please," I sneak in. "While we wait, you can tell me your answer." I smirk and he chuckles at my nosiness.

"Fine." he finally gives in.

I brace myself for the coming answer. It may have been a goofy question, but he seemed so hesitant to answer it. I just never thought it was something someone would want to avoid.

He strokes his chin looking up as if the answers were written on the call switches.

"Come on, i'm impatient." I puff now unable to stay still in my seat.

It may just be my ADHD, but I feel like i'm just holding onto my breath waiting for his answer.

"Honestly I'd do either. They're my soulmate, for them i'd travel over planets, or wait further than eternity and-"

Fuck!

I feel the scalding hot water drip onto my jacket sleeve. Thankfully it seems only like a few drops, and pain subsides after.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have filled the cup up that high." the stewardess profusely apologizes as Yongbok begins to dab napkins onto my jacket.

His eyes slightly widen as he looks down at my skin.

Fuck... again.

"It's fine, barely even feel it now. Don't worry it's an honest mistake." I assure the stewardess who wheels the cart to the next row after apologizing again.

Now to talk to Yongbok, this is gonna be interesting.

"Um, I tried to dry the sleeve as much as I could." he states after a few seconds of us awkwardly staring at each other.

"It's fine." I try to put on a smile. My attempt goes horridly, but I tried.

I look down at my skin. The patches of white and brown; vitiligo.

I've learned to not be ashamed of my skin condition, but at times it can be hard to not shy away from the attention it gets.

"It's called vitiligo, right?" he asks in a small voice.

I nod my head, the words not able to come out. Not sure if it's from wanting to shy away, or just amazement that he's actually aware of what it is.

"Yeah, it's mostly on my arms and torso. But I have a few spots on my hands too." I explain.

"I saw this soulmate mark before where one person had vitiligo and when they met their soulmate they knew because it was the exact opposite pattern on them." he smiles looking at my skin. "I always thought it was so cool how that was their soulmate mark. I know it's unique for every pair, but just imagine seeing somebody who is truly your other half both in and out."

Woah.

Wait, what?

No 'woah.' none of that. Nope, nuh uh, not today. Heart, stop doing whatever the hell you're doing.

I'm 2,000 feet in the air I can't fall for anyone.

"That's- wow."

I've heard a lot of negatives about the way I look. That I wasn't 'properly mixed' or that I had 'weird spots' but hearing it like that. It made me feel... beautiful.

"Sorry for the rant." he chuckles scratching the back of his neck. "It took a lot for me to start liking my freckles and ever since i've just found so many things in the world more beautiful."

I. Think. My. Heart. Is. Going. To. Explode.

"I know how you feel." I answer in my softest voice, too afraid that if I speak up he'll be able to sense somethings up.

"Good." he smiles sweetly at me. "You should know that you're beautiful."

-:-:-:-:-

Ending it very sweetly ( ^ω^ )

Anyways ngl this book has a lot of elements about me cause I have a skin conditions where I don't pick up melanin in certain areas and as a southeast asian it shows. So i'm making representation for myself basically lol.

I hope you enjoy this chapter, it's a lil cheesy but that's how it be sometimes.
