Gareth pov

I flicked on the tv which happened to be on the news.

-"The police have recently got a report saying that the girl is abused.Searching of the residence has also proved this.Along with the fact that the parents aren't completely sure where she is.When interviewed all they could come up with is that their daughters fiancé's twin brother has kidnapped her.Neighbours responded to this by saying that it is very likely that she is abused because she constantly has bruises and has probably ran away."

"This is how the teen girl looks like."

Gareth sucked in a breath as he saw the image.

It was a very unhappy and bruised girl.But he couldn't deny the unmistakeable resemblance to Sunny.

"As you can see there does appear to be fingerprints.We-...."

"Oh!We have just received the girls name:Sunshine Meadow."

"What a beautiful name for such a strong girl who has been through so much.Sunny if you're listening to this,please report to authorities on your whereabouts asap."

"Now moving on to another case...."

"I've been reported missing?!"

Gareth quickly pressed the power button on the tv and quickly faced Sunny.

"Yeah.How much did you hear?"

"Enough."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault.I just-I really don't want to ever go back there!"She wipes her eyes.

Gareth felt his stomach twist.How much have they hurt her?!

"Shh.C'mon don't cry.I won't let that happen okay?!Ever!You're practically my sister."

"Really?"She looked happier.

"Of course."

He held her a while longer and then told her to be ready.

Sunny pov

I felt a knot in my stomach as we got closer and closer to the police station.

I breathed a sigh of relief as we were delayed by a red light.

Gareth took the time to ask me if I was alright.

"Yep.Never been better!"I reply in my most chirpy voice.

"Don't lie to me Sunny.I know you're not!"

"Sorry."

He just sighs and shakes his head.

The light turned green,we parked and made our way in.

We were barely in there five seconds when an officer recognized me.

We were lead to a room and asked to sit down.

For an officer this one was pretty chirpy.Even her room had a sunny yellow theme,with plants hanging from ceiling hooks,the curtains opened wide and instead of the classic cup of coffee on her desk there was a steaming mug of green tea!

I think I like her I think as I smile back slightly at her.

"So first things first!Who is this man beside you?"

"He's my friend."

"Friend huh?!"She looked at me inquiringly.

Did she think I was lying?!I immediately began to grow nervous.

"We're gonna have to ask you to leave"she motions to Gareth.

Gareth scowls at her.

"Office policies."

He sighs and hives me a reassuring pat on the head before leaving.

"So now that we're alone i'm going to ask you some questions alright?All I want from you is to tell the truth,answer as clear as possible and please be comfortable.I won't bite!"

I nod.

"First,as you probably already know,seeing as everyone is jumping to conclusions about this..."she paused."Are you abused?"

I hesitate.

Do I wanna yes?Would that be the right choice?

Once my answer is out there there's no going back?But how do I know I can trust her?!...

But I have to trust someone!I have to start somewhere and if there's anything Trevor taught me,it was trust.

I want to heal.I want to let go of all these painful feelings and emotions and just...breathe!

So,here goes nothing!

I take a deep breath and say the one three lettered word answer that would lead to my recovery:"yes!"
