We live in a world where Soulmates are a thing, and each soulmate has a matching tattoo. As it turns out, I happen to be soulmates with a korean kpop idol. Like, a really FAMOUS idol. Not that I mind, he seems nice, but you know...I'm not the type...
Hi, it's the author! So I'm writing this because I have D.I.D., and I guess I just wanted to write about it...? I share a body with three other people, and it gets pretty hectic! The others want me to write a story about us, but I've got my hands full right now. If you guys want, I could do it tho :)
"Dissociative identity disorder, or D.I.D., is a mental disorder where the brain splits itself into multiple personalities to cope with trauma. I'll explain what it's like for me:
Inside my head is a house. The house has two rooms. A room for me, and a room for Quinn.
I like pastel colors, so my room is splashed in soft hues. It's painted a faded blue, with bright creamy clouds on the ceiling. The floor is a fluffy white carpet. A twin bed stands in the middle of the room, a pretty purple bedspread covers the structure, and a few stuffed animals lay near the head. Drawing supplies litter the desk in the corner, and books are neatly aligned on the rose-colored bookshelf. The only source of light is a large window opposite the door. The view out of the window is a beautiful beach...sometimes, when I'm relaxed enough, I can escape the house and swim in the ocean. This is rare, so I take advantage of it when I can.
Quinn's room is darker, with neutral colors thrown in randomly. Her walls are blue like mine, but hers are a shade of midnight. Glow-in-the-dark stars are scattered on the ceiling, along with one giant moon in the center. The hardwood floor is an inky black. Instead of a bed, a hammock swings in the corner, and a lava lamp sits on the nighttable beside it. Quinn doesn't have a window, really. Just a skylight that shows an enormous maple tree, practically begging to be climbed. They can sneak out sometimes too, just so they can touch the leaves.
When one of us is out experiencing the real world, the other is inside the house. If we're asleep in real life, we are both in the house. When one of us is in the house, we are aware of our surroundings in the real world. We can communicate in the back of our head even if we're in different places, but we annoy each other sometimes. Luckily, we agree on most important things, like lifestyle choices, employment, and BTS.
In our mind, we don't look at all like what you see.
I have mint green hair, pale skin, light hazel eyes, and freckles.

Quinn has slightly darker skin, brown eyes, and silver hair that fades into light pink at the ends.

I am shy, introverted, softspoken, and "book smart". I handle things like taxes and rent. I like lofi music, pretty things, and illustrating for the books Quinn writes. My favorite food is egg noodles, and my favorite color is mint, like my hair.
Quinn is loud, unafraid(mostly), loves animals, and is "street smart". They handle things like self-defense and shopping. They like jazz, goth things, and writing. Their favorite food is peanut butter, and their favorite color is crimson.
We both have anxiety and mild depression.
It's a wonder we only split into two, considering the amount of stress Quinn was put through as a child.
