Chapter Two

Chapter Two:

I tensed up, trying to convince myself that it wasn't Roy that asked me that. I had to convince myself, he died, the wolves killed him and took him away.

"What are you doing!?" He asked again, except this time he was a little more fierce.

"I am looking for a way out of here. Are you stuck in here too?" I asked nervously.

"No, I am the one that brought you here. Your chin, are you alright?" He asked me, caringly.

"It would be okay if you hadn't chased me, and brought me here!" I snapped.

"I just thought you should know..." He mumbled.

"Know what?" I asked curiously.

He stroke a match and lit a candle on a small rock beside him. He lifted his face up so that I could see it. I gasped. No, he died, this isn't possible!

"How are you here! You died, the wolves killed you!" I yelled at him with tears welling up in my eyes.

"I can expl-" I cut him off by giving him an enormous hug.

"We had a funeral for you...we all thought that you died because of the wolves. And now you're alive? This makes no sense, how did you escape from the wolves?" I had so many questions that I needed answers to, but I didn't know how to ask all of them.

"Renette, I am so sorry, but you have to hide."

"What? What are you talking about? Why do I have to hide? None of this makes any sense!" I yelled confused with all of the sudden things that have happened.

"Renette, you have to trust me." He said, while making me look into his brilliant brown eyes.

I obeyed him and hid behind the largest rock that I could find. I was so confused at the line of events that have happened tonight. How is Roy still alive? Where am I? Why do I have to hide? Who or what am I hiding from? Some of these questions I will have the answers to soon.

"Who were you talking to?" A man with a very deep voice asked to Roy.

"I was talking to myself on what to do when there is a storm Sir." Roy said to protect me from getting found out.

"Keep up the good work Roy." The man with the deep voice said. "Yes Sir, I'll try." Roy replied.

The man with the creepy deep voice walked away. Roy waited a few minutes until he was sure that there was no one around before letting me come out. So Roy isn't here alone, why did he bring me here if I'm not even allowed to be here?

"Renette? Can you come out now? I have to show you something outside. It's really important."

"Okay, and... What was all of that about? Who was he?" I asked.

"I'll explain later, okay? I promise. Now, just follow me."

He led me outside of the cavelike thing. The cave was too dark, so I couldn't see where we were going. But when we got outside, I was disappointed to see that it was still night outside. I wonder why he took me outside? Maybe he knew that I was wanting to get some fresh air. But he said that he was going to show me something. I wonder what it could be.

He looked at me, he obviously wanted to show me this for a long time. I could see it in his eyes. He looked down at the ground, and took a deep breath. All of a sudden a leaf blew into my eyes and I couldn't see. The next thing I knew, there was a wolf in front of me. I couldn't see Roy anywhere. But then I looked into its eyes. Those beautiful brilliant eyes. They looked just like Roy's. Wait, but what if they were Roy's eyes! This can't be right...

But then again, I never saw what happened to him. I never saw the wolves take him away. They just... vanished. I looked away, knelt down, and started crying my eyes out. I guess he had turned back into a human, because the next thing I knew, there were fingers lightly brushing through my hair.

"Why did you leave? Why did you make us think that you were dead?"

"They took me away Renette. They wouldn't let me leave!"

"Then why did you bring me here now?"

"Happy 18th birthday Renette." I looked at him with a weird look in my eyes. "What! Do you think that I had forgotten?"

"To be honest, yes."

"Well, how could I forget the day I was taken away from my true love?"

I flinched nervously. "Of course, you probably have a new boyfriend now... How is he like?" He asked reluctantly. I lifted my head up and looked at him with confusion.

"I never loved anyone other than you."

"Well, then in that case I guess I can do this..." He tilted my neck towards him, ran his fingers through my hair, and kissed me on the lips. I pushed him away after I had realized what had happened. I turned around and put my hand over my mouth. It was too sudden, after all, he had just come back to life in a matter of speaking.
