It was Wednesday and it was nearly 80 degrees outside which meant one thing. Pool.
I hadn’t particularly wanted to go, the pool here was nice but during the day it was full of screaming kids and when it’s hot I didn’t feel like going through that ordeal. I knew Sophie would want to go though and considering other than her and now Sebastian were the only people I knew around here I didn’t really have much choice.
Sebastian was nice but I still was unsure, sure he was gorgeous and kind and considerate and my parents loved him but I just couldn’t see the attraction so far. He was attractive but I wasn’t attracted to him.
You’re attracted to Harry. No I’m not, Harry is a jerk and he knows he is.
Harry thinks I can just be manipulated like every other girl on this camp with his charm and good looks. I was different, I wasn’t going to let some arrogant idiot manipulate me into thinking they’re a good person when I knew they weren’t.
“Sophie, can we go soon” I shouted growing tired of the thoughts in my head revolving around the one person I wanted to forget.
“Patience, beauty takes time” Sophie called back and I groaned from my seat in the living room.
I had been ready for a good half an hour and Sophie wasn’t even nearly. This is what would happen every day. She would tell me to be ready by a certain time, I would be and then she wouldn’t even be ready herself until at least 45 minutes after her chosen time.
“Ready” I heard and I looked up to see Sophie standing in the doorway.
“Finally” I grumbled but she pretended not to hear me.
I scraped my sandals along the hot tarmac that lead to the secluded pool round the back of the house. Sophie had lead the way after she’d finally picked the perfect pool outfit. I’d simply gone for my plain white bikini and thrown a hoody over the top to cover my decency on the walk down there. Sophie had gone all out, she’d spent nearly an hour picking out the perfect swimsuit then another hour perfecting her hair and make-up. When we finally reached the pool I realised why. Harry sat perched on top of the tall lifeguarding stool and I rolled my eyes. Of course he could life guard.
Harry’s gaze drifted our way as the gate creaked as we entered the pool area. The smirk he shot sent a shiver through my whole body but I chose to ignore it. He was in a red polo shirt that was paired a pair of very short yellow swim shorts. I noticed that smug smile on his face and he noticed I hadn’t taken me eyes off him yet.
“God, he’s so dreamy” Sophie sighed.
She clearly enjoyed the view of Harry that I did not. How could anyone enjoy that view? Sure he was attractive but he knew he was attractive.
“Let’s just go over here” I told her pointing to two empty sun loungers in the top corner of the patio.
“Don’t you just want to stare at him a little longer?” she asked not taking her eyes off Harry as we walked over to the loungers.
