"We'll be back in a week," Dean said, slinging his duffel bag around his shoulder as he and his brother made their way up the stairs leading to the front door. "This place will be on lockdown, so there's no way in or out, got that?"

"You know, I actually used to think you two were pretty cool," I replied, crossing my arms. "Like, Heaven's bedtime stories personified. That is, until you guys started forgetting I'm several millennia old and don't need the likes of the Winchester brothers telling me what to do."

Dean, as a response from a grown man, stuck his tongue out at me. I, of course, did the same and Sam had to intervene because it was obvious that we could've been there all day.

"Don't do anything stupid, Jade," Sam told me and I nodded once.

"I rarely do anything stupid."

"Mm."

And they were gone. I had to wonder; did they really not expect me to leave? Being an angel again, that meant I can do things human-Jade could not. I may not have my wings (which is also something I plan on getting back sometime soon), but I do have everything I need to get out of this bunker. which, surprisingly, isn't a lot.

"You owe me," was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I caught a glimpse of Castiel. I didn't have to call for long for him to answer, so there we were; in my room, with my on my bed beside a packed bag.

"Excuse me?" He asked, looking at the ground around him before back up at me. He must've thought I planned on tricking him with holy oil, but that is not my intention. No, this is a clean, truthful discussion that was long overdue for the two of us.

"For several thousand years, I have done nothing but help you guys. In Hell, for several centuries, I was tortured beyond my body's limits to keep your secrets. All I ever asked for was help. Every time Crowley gave me my grace back, you cannot tell me that my scream for help didn't resound with every god or goddess that humans have ever worshipped or prayed to. No help came for centuries, yet I still never gave up the location of Heaven. So hear me out brother, and hear me well."

Castiel pursed his lips and his silence guided me on.

"I need you to take me to my parents."

My request confused him. "But- oh. Your other parents."

"No, not my other parents," I snapped. "The word other would suggest I had any to begin with, which is a highly debatable topic. I need you to take me to my parents in Ever Falls, a small town off the border of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."

Castiel paused, and I was overly grateful he was at least considering it. "Why?"

"They're holding a memorial." I sighed and stood, walking over to my bedstand. A picture of me and my parents (a printed one that I found inside of one of my many disappearance article) was framed, so I picked it up to look at it. "They're holding a memorial on my birthday, and there's no doubt every nasty Heaven and Hell have up their sleeves will be ready to attack those I care about." I took a moment before looking back at my brother. "Please Castiel. You lot subject me to a human life, one that you're not letting me protect."

"But Sam and Dean-"

"Are not my problem. Since when do you put your friends over your family, Castiel?"

"Sam and Dean are my family."

I hated how hurt I felt after he said those words, but I got it. I fucked up in Heaven, I fell, I am no longer a righteous being. Perhaps it was too much to ask for Castiel to retain his previously-held familial feelings for me. "And Eva and James are mine. One last favor, Castiel, that is all I ask. I don't want this life anymore. This grace-" I pressed the tips of my fingers to my neck. "Is solely a protection measure. I have seen the other side; I have lived the other side and I don't want to go back to feeling sorrow over the lack of care our father holds for us and blind fealty to the 'greater good' but nothing more. I want to find love, I want to have children." Castiel's expression softened. "I want to grow old and die and go to Heaven, not because it's my duty but because I actually own a Heaven, all for myself and those I love. That is what I want, Castiel, and nothing more. So please-"
