Todoroki's POV
Aizawa and Nezu led the seven nervous students toward the enormous white complex.
"Remember a few days ago when I said it would be easy, I take that back now." Kirishima gulped.
"It's okay Kirishima!" Kaminari pat his friend's shoulder. "It's only us against however many scientists there are in there!"
"That seems like, a lot." Todoroki looked from left to right. Forest surrounded the sides of the building as well. Perfect for hiding after they got Izuku.
"We got this," Kaminari grinned, seeming undeterred. Todoroki saw his hand twitch, indicating unease. Nonetheless, Todoroki was glad someone was trying to lighten the mood.
"Thanks Kaminari."
"What for?" Kaminari looked at Todoroki questionably.
Todoroki just shook his head. "Let's go and stop wasting time."
"Finally done?" Aizawa grumbles and pushes open the door. "Remember the plan."
After Nezu and Aizawa talked with a scientist, they indicated that they could leave and walk around a bit.
"Please don't touch anything and try to keep quiet," the scientist called after them.
Uraraka smiled and waved back, trying to hide Shinsou who was holding in laughter.
"Shinsou," Uraraka said menacingly when they were out of sight and earshot, her tone not meeting her eyes.
"Sorry, it's just hilarious purposely breaking the rules and knowing someone will be pissed." Shinsou said after coughing several times.
Todoroki smiled and examined the smooth whiteness that covered the hallway from top to bottom, left to right.
"It's all identical, how will we find our way out?" Tokoyami said, also examining the walls. "It just keeps stretching on and on."
"I got this!" Mina squatted down and put her finger where the wall meets the floor. She gently tapped a small area and stepped back to show her work to the others. A small hole remained. "Look for these holes. I'll leave one every few meters, always on my right. Text us when you've found Izu and we can use these holes to find each other." They all quietly clapped for the beaming Mina.
After jogging forward for a few minutes, the group reached an intersection.
"Alright, well, see you guys later." Shinsou says and follows Mina who took off on the right path. "Mina'll get that access card to you when I get one." He points at Tokoyami before turning back around.
"Which way do you guys want?" Kirishima looks at Uraraka and Tokoyami. "Kaminari and I are fine whichever way."
"Left of my lucky side, so left I guess." Uraraka shrugs and jogs down the left path. "We'll do our best! Come on Tokoyami-kun!"
"You can come with us until you find another intersection Todoroki!" Kaminari grins and leads the trio forward.
Moving at a steady pace, it wasn't long before the trio finds themselves the intersection they needed.
"See you in a bit Todoroki!"
"See you." Todoroki takes the left fork and continues jogging in silence. A small ding chimes from his pocket.
Card one, secured.
Finding a door a few minutes later, he opened it and found a room that looked like a chemistry classroom, but white. There were several beakers of red liquid on the tables and scattered paper.
Focus on finding Izuku. This isn't important. Todoroki quickly walked all around the room and ran out, trying to make up for lost time. He ran for a few more minutes, searching what rooms he came across, but found nothing. He slowed down to a jog after roughly 20 minutes. By this time, everyone else had gotten their cards. Todoroki also found one cast aside in a room he searched.
"Todoroki?" Uraraka's voice called out somewhere behind him. He slowed.
"Uraraka? Tokoyami?" Todoroki waited for Tokoyami and Uraraka to catch up to him.
"Any luck?" Tokoyami asked. Todoroki shook his head. "Dang."
Izuku's POV
Izuku was waking up again, pain still lingering throughout his body. This time it hurt more than the last. His head hurt more each passing minute. I don't know how much longer I can keep up with this.
"Eri," Izuku shook a sleeping Eri awake. She sat up slowly and blinked a few times. "Do you...want to leave?"
"Of course!" Eri said without hesitation. "Are we leaving?"
"I hope so, I-" Izuku clutched his stomach as another wave of pain and nausea hit him.
"Izu?" Eri's eyes widened with fear. "Are you okay?"
Izuku waited for the pain to pass before nodding his head. "Let's leave. Today." He smiled at Eri. A new determination lit up her eyes.
Eri and Izuku came up with a plan to leave. They would finish their food and not throw the tray down the chute that appeared in the middle of the table. Then they would hit the person on the head that came for Eri and escape. They left it at that and hoped they would be able to find the exit.
"It's so simple." Eri voiced what Izuku was thinking.
"But, there's not much else we could do." Izuku shrugged.
They clutched their trays in their hands and waited for the person to come. When she did eventually, Eri dove at her feet and made her trip over, and Izuku hit her on the head as hard as he could.
"Is...is she dead?" Eri stepped back from the unmoving body.
Izuku huffed out a breath. "I hope not. But look, she's still breathing." The person's back was moving up and down slightly. "Let's go. Hurry." Izuku grabbed Eri's hand and raced out as fast as he could. Left goes to the pain room. Go right. Izuku and Eri ran down the white hallway and rushed into uncertainty.
