January 24th, 1893: Adam was clearly haunted by his previous actions, with how quickly he left the military. Albeit briefly, for a moment he was having a blast committing the things he did, he loved the glory and fame he was achieving: the thought of even enjoying it a little, it disgusted him. He thought of taking up bounty hunting but he couldn't bring himself to continue killing, and so he settled on gambling.

Much like Cornelius, one of his lowest points in life granted him extreme luck in gambling, he didn't achieve the riches Cornelius did but hey he was making it.

June 20th, 1893: Adam had made his way to Saint Denis, he despised the place but it's where his gambling could bring in the most. On one night of his stays, he ended up conceiving a child with a bartender he had met a few times on his travels to the city by the name of Annabelle Davina. The child wasn't planned but he knew the importance of being a father, and so he pushed through it.

February 28th, 1894: Adam and Annabelle's child was born; however, Annabelle died in giving birth to the child: he decided to name the child Anna Davina Shalashaska in honor of her deceased mother. It was like before, he was alone again. On top of all this, he was getting practically crushed by the debt of gambling: with his luck running out he was all of a sudden given a chance to wipe the slate clean.

November 2nd, 1894: He and Anna had been barely getting by in these months, but he was clearly in a major depression. Then one day a man comes to his doorstep, wanting to arrange a meeting where in exchange for his daughter, all his debt would be wiped away. In such a low point, he initially agreed to the meeting. Once the deal was done, he immediately felt an overwhelming amount of guilt for what he had just done, and so he tried to get his daughter back; he fought hard but was unable to, when the men he gave her to completely disappeared out of his sight, leaving only her severed pinky finger in their place.
