Nyari

"Nyari, where are you?" Kamiyah asked as I balanced my phone between my ear and my shoulder.

"I'm gonna be there soon, I just need to get a few things first."

"Okay hurry up." She said before I assured her I would be with her soon and hanging up.  Kamiyah decided last minute that she wanted to host a mini barbecue since it was hot outside. I was currently getting my toes and nails done & needed to get a couple things for my mum before heading to Kamiyah's.

"Do you like?" My nail lady asked referring to my nails.

"Yes Julia, I love these." I decided to get something different on my nails and settled for a cute white abstract design. For my toes I got smile lines.  After another 30 minutes I paid for my nails and toes and left the shop.

I quickly walked to my car and put on the air conditioning since it was 25 degrees outside. I was wearing a basic grey bodycon dress with flip flops and huge black sun glasses. Blasting my 90s/00s playlist, I made my way to the supermarket to get my mum's shopping list. I liked running errands for my parents because I found it therapeutic.

Arriving at the store, I went straight to the frozen aisle to pick up some ice lollies for the house, I decided to text Kamiyah to see if she wanted me to get some things for the barbecue.

I locked my phone and put it in my bag as I continued shopping for my mum

I locked my phone and put it in my bag as I continued shopping for my mum. I was in the drinks aisle deciding to get a bottle for the bbq even though Kamiyah told me not to worry.

"You sure you can handle all that liquor yeah?" I looked up to see who was speaking to me. A tall light skin guy towered over me as he gestured to the 3 bottles in my trolley. He was cute but he just wasn't my type.

"Erm, yeah." I said giving a tight lipped smile and continuing my shopping.

"Hosting a party?" He asked making me internally roll my eyes.

"No, my friend is doing a barbecue."

"Is it open invite?" I furrowed my eyebrows at his question. Did he really think I would invite a stranger to my friends barbecue?

"No offence but I don't know you, so no."

"Yeah but you can get to know me innit." He smirked at me."You're looking real nice in that dress." He winked. I felt like I wanted to throw up.

"Thanks but I've got a boyfriend." I lied.

"So you're not allowed to have friends?"

"I have enough friends thanks." I said getting agitated.
