July 15th (2 weeks later)
We were all sitting in my living room; me, my brother AJ, his girlfriend Nastasha and my parents. Today was the day they were going to tell my parents that they were expecting. I was excited for them yet anxious because I didn't know how my parents were going to react.
"Okay so what is this about? I have somewhere to be in half an hour." My dad said looking down at his watch.
"Before I start promise you guys won't get angry." AJ said making me chuckle. I found it funny that he believed that would prevent my parents from getting angry.
"Just say it AJ." My mum said.
"Okay fine, Natasha's pregnant." He said avoiding eye contact with my parents. There was a long awkward silence. I looked at both of my parents to see if one of them would break the silence but it looked as if they were in deep thought so I decided to say something.
"Congratulations! I'm gonna be an Aunty." I smiled getting up to give Natasha a hug.
"Thank you sissy." She smiled back.
"How far along are you?" My mum asked.
"3 months." Natasha answered.
"AJ you know how I feel about having children out of wedlock but I can't be angry because I knew you both were having sex." My mum said. "You're both grown and very mature for your age and I have no doubt that you will raise my grandchild correctly so congratulations to you both." She got up and gave both of them a hug and Natasha a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, I'm so happy you're supportive of us." Natasha said with glossy eyes. Hormones.
"Thank you mum." AJ said kissing her on the cheek.
We all looked to my Dad who hadn't uttered a word since AJ broke the news. I could tell my brother was nervous because he really valued my Dad's opinion and wanted his support.
"I'm too sexy to be anyone's grandfather." He said making my mum roll her eyes while we laughed. "But like your mother said I am very proud of you AJ; you have your own business, you're mature and you're a provider. And Natasha, you're a nice girl and there isn't any other girl that I would approve of carrying my first grandchild so congratulations to you both and welcome to the family." My dad said smiling as he went to hug them both.
"I told you they wouldn't be angry." I said.
"You knew?!" My mum asked surprised.
"I've known for like 2 weeks sis." I chuckled.
"How come you told her before me?" She turned to my brother.
"Because he likes me more than you." I smirked.
"Mum you know that's not true. You're my number one girl." He said putting his arm around her shoulder and kissing her cheek.
"Damn right." She said sticking her tongue out at me. "But don't say that in front of Natasha before she gets jealous." She joked.
