Chapter 9: Sentencing

A letter came, from the ministry asking for the presence of Draco Malfoy and Ophelia Enger and her family to discuss the matters of their relationship

Both of the lovers got the letter, Ophelia ended up having to tell her family about Draco and why she was gone so many times, they didn't believe her at first until they saw the letter
The ministry asked that the two not see each other until the trial at the ministry

The day came and the Engers dress their best for the ministry, and they sent a car to pick them up to bring them there, it was raining that day, Ophelia picked up her sister and carried her with her to the car as she held the umbrella " what's going on" Nora asked " sissy got into some trouble that all Nora" her mother said " yea she just had to go into those stupid woods again and fall in love with a wolf that turns into a boy" her older sister mocked " Sarah that is enough, we've all made mistakes, even you" her father snapped

Ophelia hadn't said anything since she revived the letter the day before, what would they do to her, what are the consequences they will have to face, Ophelia only wondered

The ministry was a big place, different people in all places, Draco had told her the different aspects of the ministry and she thought it was amazing until she was being sent here for a punishment

The courtroom was beyond terrifying, the seats were packed everyone was excited to see what punishment a pureblood and muggle would get for dating each other

Draco locked eyes with Ophelia and she thought " what if this is it"
He mouthed he loved her to her and she smiled and mouthed it back, as the trail began Draco made sure to block out Ophelia's thoughts from other people, he could block his own but they had free range of Ophelia's

" Welcome all, we are here to discuss the relations between a muggle and a pureblood," the minister said " will Ophelia and Sarah Enger take the stand first," the minister asked
Ophelia felt her heart skip a beat and looked to Draco on the other side of the courtroom
He nodded slowly and she proceeded to go into the circle they had as the stand, along with her sister

" Ophelia, are the allegations true that you are went into the woods behind your grandparent's home and spotted Draco in his cursed form?"
" um... yes sir" she looked down
" Sarah is it true you left your sister alone in the woods that night?"
" I mean it was only for like 5 minutes... but yes," Sarah said

Ophelia shifted in her seat as she grew hotter, she ran her fingers through her hair as she grew nervous " will Sarah Enger leave the stand please" he said, Sarah obeyed and left her sister alone in the stand

" is it true that Mr. Malfoy change forms in front of you on the next full moon?" He asked "yes"
" and he brought you to what we call diagon alley?"
" yes" she answered

" can Draco Malfoy"
Ophelia realized she was shaking, her nervousness consumed her
Draco sat next to her and she couldn't help but be nervous especially around him " Ms. Enger, is everything alright?" The minister asked
The entire courtroom had their eyes in her including Draco " um... I..."
Draco put his hand on her thigh, calming her "yes I'm fine"

" How did you two define your relationship?" He asked " dating," Draco and Ophelia said in unison " have you two....evolved?" He asked
Ophelia was confused, what does that me " evolved?" She muttered " sex" Draco whispered to her " yes...Sex" the minister clears his throat "yes we have" Draco answered

The whole room now knows that she's had sex with Draco and now her family knows she's had sex
" protected?" He asked, Ophelia, looked the other way as they shook their head "5-minute recess while Ms. Enger takes a pregnancy test"
" what,' I'm not pregnant" she mumbled " it's just a precaution," Draco said
" This whole thing is stupid and unnecessary," she said stepping down from the stand

" no fair Ophelia, you've had sex before I have" Sarah crossed her arms " Sarah fuck off"
A woman led Ophelia out the room and to a bathroom "I'm not pregnant" she tried to tell the lady but she continued to hand her the test

Minutes later after taking the test, which came out negative most of the courtroom calmed down from it
She joined Draco back at the stand, she shook her head as he looked at her for an answer on the test

" Draco Malfoy you allegedly let a muggle see you change forms, more than once, you brought a muggle through the boundary line and into diagon alley and lastly you brought a muggle into your house, more than once"
The courtroom was filled with gasps and whispers, murmurs " is this true?"
" yes... it all is" he nodded " by the ministry's choice we sentence you Draco Malfoy to a year in your cursed form"
" what!" Ophelia interrupted " I'll be fine, it's better than Azkaban" he whispered to her " and you Ophelia Enger...."
This is where Draco got a knot in his stomach, what would they do to her, she didn't do anything " sentence you to obliviation"
