Inanna could not stop thinking about what happened. Not only was it rude of him to ask her like that, but it was incredibly unusual. Inanna was sure Malfoy was upto something. As a Slytherin herself, she knew that someone like Draco Malfoy would never give up his pride so easily like that.
Hence, naturally, Inanna had been very distracted the next few days. This did not go unnoticed by her fellow classmates. They were very curious over what had Inanna Elsher out of her mind, because nothing usually caught her attention so much.
This, sadly, had affected her academic status as well. Hermione had gotten very suspicious of her Slytherin friend, while Ron and Harry tried to defend Inanna by saying 'Maybe it's just pressure!' But they wouldn't, if they knew what was occupying her mind.
Inanna was very well aware of their hatred for Draco Malfoy. She convinced herself she hated him as well, and she still does. Oh, that cocky, arrogant and idiotic white-haired boy! Inanna despised him for taking up most of her time.
However, once all the professors noted that the students were happy again, they started giving them stacks upon stacks of homework. Inanna had to study for all of that and help Hermione gather information on Magical Creature laws, so that they could help Hagrid.
Inanna hated Malfoy even more for putting Buckbeak in danger. She was very fond of the magical Hippogriff, and the thought of someone even hurting Buckbeak made her skin crawl with anger.
She was in the library, with Hermione. Hermione's eyes were furiously darting from one of the book she was reading to the other. The book Inanna was reading looked to be very old and fragile. As if one wrong touch and it would tear apart. On the cover of the book, 'Magical Creatures: Issues and Laws', was written boldly with huge fonts.
The pages of the book were oddly intact, but seemed to be very thin and worn out. All the writings were luckily still readable. The page was coloured a shade of yellow, and the ink colour of the writing as black as ever.
'Magical Creatures: Executions by Law', was written on top of the page. Down below were all different types of dangerous magical creatures that were all executed because of harm to wizards and witches.
But Buckbeack wasn't a threat. Buckbeack wasn't dangerous or harmful. It was that Malfoy actually deserved what he got from the Hippogriff.
The thought of Buckbeak getting executed brought a burning feeling inside Inanna. Even more when she thought about how Buckbeak didn't even deserve getting hurt. How unfair and unjust it was, to try and humiliate and sack Hagrid, and kill Buckbeak.
Inanna gritted her teeth, and her grip of the book tightened without her knowledge. Her jaw clenched, thinking about the gleeful look on Malfoy's face when he would see Buckbeak get executed. The burning sensation of extreme anger took over her. . .
Suddenly, a soft crippling sound was heard from the sky, which eventually bursted into a thunderous bang. Inanna's eyes snapped towards the window, to see that the clouds had become very dark. Inanna looked towards Hermione to see her looking at Inanna weirdly. When Hermione realized that Inanna was staring back at Hermione, she cleared her throat.
Inanna looked down at her hands and saw the quill she was holding had snapped in half.
"I saw you snap your quill," Hermione said, almost in a whisper, to avoid getting scolded by the librarian. "You must've been very angry." Hermione noted, something that Inanna knew was true. However, it felt like Hermione wanted to say something else, but was refraining from saying it.
"What?" Inanna asked, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. Hermione may be smart, but she needed to remember Inanna was also smart, if not smarter. Well, in the case of book knowledge, Hermione would probably win. But in the case of clever, quick and cunning thinking, logic and manipulativeness, Inanna would definitely win.
"Nothing, nothing," Hermione said quickly. Too quickly. Inanna could tell Hermione was becoming nervous.
"Hermione, tell me," Inanna warned. After a moment of hesitation, Hermione gave in.
"Fine!" She huffed. "Remember the lightning? Yeah? You caused that." Hermione blurted out. Inanna accidentally laughed out loud. From all the way across the room, the librarian gave them an irritated look and glared at them.
"Hermione, stop dreaming!" Inanna snorted. "Yeah, I'm a witch but that's like saying Slytherins suddenly became fond of Gryffindors." Inanna pretended to wipe a fake tear off her face.
Hermione deadpanned.
"Oh, you're serious." Inanna muttered. "But Hermione, you can't seriously think that I was going to believe that. Like thunder striking is common. It isn't rare!" Inanna quietly argued back.
"But- but, you got really angry and then something happened and then the once-not-so-cloudy-sky turned really cloudy and dark all of a sudden and then the thunder happened." Hermione quietly exclaimed.
"Weather changes." Inanna shrugged. Hermione opened her mouth to argue back, but she didn't have anything to argue back with. So, instead, Hermione quietly relaxed back, but something in her eyes told Inanna she wasn't going to let this go.
