ROSE POV
One thing that was rather surprising about pregnancy was the hormones. They were constantly changing like the tides. One moment causing me to cry, another moment, causing me to crave the most absurd of food combinations.
Draco had to be dizzy trying to keep up.
I found myself having a much shorter fuse than I did before, which resulted in me lashing out when I didn't mean to. Many a time had Draco been on the receiving end of the silent treatment from me because of something as simple as there not being enough ice in my water, or the sun being too bright outside.
But he never complained. He never snapped back. He never yelled or lashed out at me.
That didn't mean he didn't get frustrated with me. Because, oh boy, he did. Instead of snapping, he would simply take a deep breath, and seclude himself until he had collected his bearings, before returning to his hormonal-monster of a wife.
This was one of those times.
Draco and I had a petty disagreement about what color to paint the nursery. He is insistent on dark green, whereas I am very set on a sage type of green, that I've recently fallen in love with.
"We wore this color green nearly every day for 7 years. What is wrong with it?" Draco huffed, putting his hands on his hips
"This is a nursery, not the Slytherin common room, Malfoy." I replied, putting my hands on my hips as well.
"Don't Malfoy me. It's your last name too." He scoffed.
"Malfoy. Malfoy. Malfoy." I taunted with a frown.
"Eros. Eros. Eros." He mimicked.
That earned him quite the wicked scowl from across the room.
We bickered about it all day, all the way until he left to meet with his probation Auror that evening, leaving me to simmer in my own stubbornness for a little while.
I was cooking dinner when he returned home, and much to my surprise, he was whistling some song with a pep in his step as he sent his coat to the closet.
I stood at the kitchen counter, eyes remaining down at the vegetables I was chopping the muggle way.
"Hello, love." He stated, strolling into the kitchen, still whistling.
"Hi." I replied, pursing my lips a bit as I loudly chopped a carrot in half.
It was clear in my tone that I was not going to be giving up the paint debacle so easily. He walked closer, hands in his pocket as he sucked his teeth.
"What are you cooking?" he asked, peering over my shoulder a bit to see what I was doing.
"Dinner." I responded, still not looking up.
I knew I was being petty, but these hormones would not let me act any other way at the moment.
He let out a quick "hm", biting the inside of his cheek as he watched my movements, like he was planning out his next move.
Tread lightly, darling.
He took a few long and lazy steps around the counter, before wrapping his arms around me and pulling my back against his front.
"I'm trying to cook here." I sighed, trying not to melt into his hugs like I always did.
"And I'm trying to seduce you here." He mimicked in the same tone, placing a slow kiss on the juncture where my neck met my shoulder.
