Chapter 09

Arthit's POV

It's been a week since we have been practicing for the freshy events. Although I could not see P'Kongpob I was practicing really hard so that we can win the competitions. Tomorrow was D-day when our games competitions are gonna start. We decided to take an early rest today so here I am Lazing around in my dorm. I decided to text P'Kong.

"P'Kong.. how are you..?"
"I am fine Nong and how are you... Are you all ready for the competitions?" He texted me.
"Khab P..! We practiced hard and we will do our best tomorrow P."

"Very good Nong. Give your best and don't care about the result. All the best." He replied 

"P ..! P..! Won't you come to cheer us tomorrow.?"
"I am sorry Nong tomorrow my friends will be there I may arrive a little late.. but I will try to reach in time." He said.

"Okay P..! Try to reach soon na..! I really need your encouragement."

"Oh ho.. my Nong is acting sweet ah... okay okay... I will surely be there.. maybe a little late.. Now take rest.. " he replied. I was smiling like a fool reading it...

"Haha.. I don't mind acting cute.. because it worked.. Thank you na P..! Okay now I will take rest and you too P.. Don't work too hard.. and Take care P. See you tomorrow." 
"Take care Nong and yah see you tomorrow." 
With that chat ended and I was more clear about my feelings towards him. Yup, I have finally fallen in love with my head hazer whom I have been troubling and now I am gonna court him. I slept happily while thinking about my felling and P'Kongpob. 

Kong's POV

After that meeting about freshy event performance, I could feel that the Nong was getting close to me. Em was not happy with it as he used to always question us and we felt like he was kind of rude also. Irrespective of that I managed to convince him that he was not a bad person maybe is always a questioning type.

To our utter surprise, even Wad is now close with Nong Prem and was telling us that although he was short-tempered he was a good person. And we all knew from the start that Nong Knot was a calm person and Nong Bright and Tutah were fun guys.

So we all decided not to judge them based on Hazing situations and were ready to see them with a new perspective after hazing based on their real personalities. Also, Wad told us that he is a little bit attracted to Nong Prem which was a shock to us but we accepted him and started teasing him. I remembered Prae also telling me that she like Nong Yuri and I hope that she will not have to struggle. She asked me not to tell anyone so I was keeping it a secret.

Then we were forcing Tew to tell us if anyone has caught his interest.. finally, he spoke up saying that Nong Knot has caught his interest but is not completely sure about his feelings and told us that he would sort them out after the hazing and then work on it. I was happy that my friends were finding the important person in their life.

I was Omi-sexual and it was not a hidden fact. But no one has caught my complete attention as of now. The days went and tomorrow was the first day of sports competitions. The engineering department has always been first in supporting even our juniors so we will be there to cheer them... but I had an activity before so I would be a little late. I was pulled out of my thoughts with a message and it was from Nong Arthit. We texted each other for a while and I promised to cheer him up tomorrow. 

The next day I woke up a little early to complete my work so that I can try reaching before the game starts. After I completed my work I got ready and left for the court. As I made my way I can see that the juniors were seated along with the second years and some of the third years.

I went to the waiting room where the participants were relaxing. I even found Wad and Em there trying to cheer them up but utterly failing because of that stern and scary look on Wad's face. I could not help but chuckle internally looking at their faces. So I decided to ease the atmosphere... I entered the room silently and tried scaring them from behind which actually worked and they got scared.

I could sense the first years trying to control their laugh which they lost when those two were trying to chase me for revenge. We stopped when our team was asked to come out. I faced the juniors and addressed them.
"Nong Nong please relax.. this is not a life and death game.. and no one is gonna blame anyone.. just go chill out and don't forget to enjoy the game... Don't focus on results.. focus on giving your best. Now come here for a group hug." I said.

With that, all of us came forward for a group hug. After that, I patted Arthit's shoulder and wished him all the best, and went into the court. The commentator who is one of our seniors called me, Em, and Wad into the court saying that we were the all-time best players and even the sports department lost because of us. We just asked him to stop exaggerating and wished luck for both the teams.

Then after making the last eye contact with Arthit, We sat with the audience but in the front row along with Tew and Oak. We were also shouting and encouraging our juniors which were shocking to the other departments and also made our juniors really happy and proud of our support.

After some matches, it was announced that the finals will be after lunch at 2 P.M. between Engineering and Science departments. We made our way to the canteen. The team members wanted to have their seats with us so that they can at least have their lunch without people coming to them. So they sat with us... Even Bright and Tutah joined along.

Although they were seated I could see people trying to talk to them. I looked at Tew who was having the same thought I guess.. we nodded to each other and made our way towards the end of the canteen with Tew standing behind me. I called for their attention and spoke a bit loudly.

"I KNOW EVERYONE WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE JUNIORS AND CLASSMATES FOR THEIR EFFORT BUT I GUESS YOU NEED TO LET THEM EAT THEIR LUNCH SO THAT THEY WOULD GET THE ENERGY TO PLAY THE FINALS" I expressed my views loud and clear.
"AS A FRIEND OR SENIOR IT IS OUR DUTY TO LET THEM TAKE REST KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE ANOTHER MATCH. SO EVERYONE AFTER THE MATCH IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER THEY WIN OR NOT WE WILL MEET IN THE CHEER HALL BECAUSE COMING INTO FINALS IS WORTH PRAISING THEM." Tew exclaimed with an equally loud voice. The other hazer came and stood beside us their positions. 

"BEFORE WE GET BACK TO EATING WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE THE GIRLS WHO ARE PARTICIPATING IN THROWBALL FOR GETTING INTO FINALS. WE ARE REALLY SORRY THAT WE WERE NOT PRESENT THERE." I spoke out and then wai-ed to them.
"EVEN THOUGH WE WERE NOT THERE BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE PROUD OF YOU ALSO AND WE WILL ALWAYS KEEP SUPPORTING YOU." Em said loudly. 
After that, all the first year stood up and thanked us for our support. Then we went back to our table to continue having our lunch.

"P'Kong, P'Tew, P'Em, P'Wad, P'Oak thank you for always thinking for us... caring and also looking after us as well as guiding us and supporting us." Nong Arthit and Nong Knot said at the same time and other juniors just nodded in acceptance.

"Hey..! Relax guys... It is our duty as your seniors... There is nothing to thank us for... Now eat we have a final to attend. And I Pretty well know that you all are nervous because there is a strong player who plays for the college... but let me tell you basketball is a team game, not individual. Play with coordination and of course without thinking about the result" I told them.

They nodded and we had our lunch with Wad giving some tips in between and we teased each other. Later we went to watch the finals of throwball as there was time for the final basketball. The girls were really shocked but happy that we came to support them. We stood along with Prae and told them to give their best.

One of them asked me what if they won't win.. We just laughed out.. I sensed their tension and quickly stopped laughing to speak with them.
"Listen girls, I am pretty sure that you have practiced really hard and giving your best. Without that, you won't be here in the finals. So don't think about the results and just enjoy the game. To us, you have already won with your hard work and determination. Now go just enjoy the game.. " I said with a reassuring voice.

We could feel that they were relaxing but determined with the look in their eyes. After that Em, Oak and Wad went to the Basketball court while I and Tew decided to stay till the end of the game. The game started and it went head-on-head, but finally, Engineering won with 2 points difference. We stood up clapping our hands for them and cheering for them.

They took us by surprise when they gave us all the seniors a group hug and thanked us in between the court. We felt really proud of them and then we made our way towards the basketball game which is about to start.
