Third person's POV
"Bow down to her Royal Highness, Princess of Sapphire!" The herald announces as the horses galloped through the main street, pulling the carriage along with them.
As the carriage passes through the streets, everyone scurried aside before bowing down, showing their respect to the royal highness. It was rare to see any of the royal family coming to town, let alone the royal princess.
"My dearie, her highness is in town?" A woman gasped, her hand covering her mouth.
"There has to be a very important matter for her to come into town!" A man guessed.
"Mother...the carriage is so beautiful!" A little boy exclaimed, letting go of his mother's hand before running off after the carriage.
"JACOB! COME BACK HERE!" The mother shouted as she chases after her son.
"NO JACOB! IT'S DANGEROUS!" The mother screamed, as her son got really close to the horses.
Fortunately, a millisecond before Jacob was ran over by the horses, an arm grabbed him away, pulling him to safety.
"Thank goodness." The mother sighed in relieve before squeezing through the crowd to retrieve her son.
The coachman yanked on the horses' lead before the carriage came to an immediate screeching halt. The royal butler opened the carriage door, peering out before seeing a boy crying at the side. He then hopped off from the carriage before shouting at the boy,
"HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"
"I...t-the..." The boy stuttered, too frightened to answer the royal butler.
"HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR DISRESPECT TOWARDS YOUR BETTERS? BOW DOWN AND BEG FOR FORGIVENESS!" The butler scoured at the boy.
"Alex, forget it. Let's just move on and-"
"Your betters? How are you better than anyone of us? We are all the same, status or non." A girl scoffed at the royal butler, standing in front of the shivering boy.
"How dare you talk back to me? Now get down and beg-"
"For your forgiveness? Don't joke with me. You aren't any better than us. If we all have a gold spoon up our arses, we would say the same to you." The girl talked back.
"H-How dare you! I can get you executed right here, right now!" The flustered royal butler shouted.
"Yeah yeah...When you can't do anything, you resort to using your status as leverage. What a petty trick. Now shove your nonsense up your arse and go off." The girl yawned, shooing off the royal butler.
"Y-You-"
"Go on, off you pop." The girl said, emphasising on the 'p' at the end.
The royal butler sent the girl a furious glare before turning around, back into the carriage.
"What an annoying impertinent brat. Where are her manners?" The royal butler scorned when he went back into the carriage.
"Now now relax Alex. It was technically our fault for going too fast at such a populated street." The royal princess said before patting Alex's shoulder.
"Your royal highness, you are too kind towards this type of brusque chit." The royal butler, Alex, sighed.
"Although, I would like to say that I'm actually amazed by her confidence to talk back to a royal member. She's a daredevil indeed." The royal princess chuckled, nodding her head in amazement.
"Your royal highness, you are too young to understand the disrespect she had shown towards a royal member." Alex shook his head, in disapproval.
Royal Princess's POV
I was shocked when the carriage came to a sudden standstill. My body jerked forward, towards the head of the carriage. Thankfully my butler, Alex, held me firmly before I fell forward, face first.
"Are you alright?" Alex asked me. After nodding my head, Alex opened the carriage's door, peering out to see what had happened. Suddenly, his facial expression changed and he hopped off the carriage to deal with the situation.
Curiosity got the better of me and I peaked out to see what was happening. Then I saw Alex scolding a little boy. Probably five- or six-year-old only.
"Alex, forget it. Let's just move on and-" I tried to stop him but he didn't hear me. Then I saw a girl, standing up for the boy.
"What a bold but impulsive move." I thought out loud.
"For your forgiveness? Don't joke with me. You aren't any better than us. If we all have a gold spoon up our arses, we would say the same to you." She said. 'Isn't she scared of the consequences she might face for fighting back a royal member?' I wondered.
It was amazing to see how she was brave enough to stand up against a royal member without any fear displayed. I was curious to know her but by the looks of it, I don't think she would like to hang around with noble people.
"Your royal highness, we have reached the Crystal Castle." Alex announced before opening the carriage door. He then stood in front of the carriage door, offering his hand out to me.
"Thank you, Alex." I thanked him before holding his hand. After he have made sure I landed on the ground safely, he bowed before saying,
"It's my pleasure."
The guards bowed to us as greetings when we slowly walked towards the entrance of the castle.
"Good evening, my dear royal highness. How do you do? You can call me Alford." A man blocked my way, greeting me. He then held my hand, kissing the dorsal surface of it.
"Good evening, your Royal Highness, Second Prince of Ruby, Sir Alford. I'm doing just fine." I greeted back.
'Argh! What an annoying Prince. I just wish to slap that smirk off his face.' I mentally groaned but managed to keep a tight smile on my face.
"May I have the honour of being your escort for tonight?" Sir Alford offered.
"Well...I'm sorry but my escort for tonight is Alex, my butler. My apologies." I bowed to him before releasing my hand from his, walking away, towards Alex. But he blocked my way again.
"I'm sorry, did I just hear that your escort would be your butler? Seriously? A lowly servant like him? You are better off with me, don't you agree?" Sir Alford expresses, holding my hand yet again.
'As if I didn't know you were trying to get in my pants.' I scoffed.
"My apologies yet again. But I can't abandon my escort just for another." I apologised, keeping my cool.
"Oh yes you can. There's a rule saying that if there's an escort of a higher status, it would be necessary to accept him instead of your current one. Well...he's a lowly servant compared to a prince, so you should not reject me." Sir Alford confidently expresses.
"I haven't heard of that rule before." I replied.
"Of course, you haven't. Because I recently created it." Sir Alford smirked.
"Then the First Prince of Ruby would be just fine, right?" An unknown voice spoke. I snapped my head to the right before looking a man standing beside me.
"Pardon my rudeness your highness, Princess of Sapphire. I am Zenos Von Braun Baumeister, the First Prince of Ruby. You can just address me as Zenos." The man bowed, introducing himself.
"Good evening to you too, Sir Zenos. It's fine actually, it wasn't rude. I am Jung Yerin, the Princess of Sapphire." I introduce myself to him.
"I'm sorry my dear brother, but I'll be taking her highness with me. I shall be her escort for tonight." Sir Zenos said before leading me into the castle.
