-Author's Note-
Because I'm just updating as I go along, to keep updating regularly, I'm going to have to make the chapters short. Sorry!
This one is going to be slightly longer than others because it's new years.
-Piper-Chapter 3-
I had just completed all of the normal procedures of the airport when I heard a voice over the PA announcing the flight to Heathrow-My flight to Heathrow.
I wobbled to gate 5, luggage in hand, and boarded the plane. I was sat in the aisle seat next to a lovely looking couple. I smiled at them as I sat down.
Looking around the plane, I suddenly felt sorry for an old woman. Why, you ask? Because a little boy sat, kicking the blue seat she was perched upon. Not only that, but she was lodged between two largely obese men. My pity disappeared as quick as it had appeared not even 10 seconds beforehand, for she had hit both men to make them move, and then continued to turn around, facing the little boy, and she yelled at him, hitting him with her purse. Cow.
I turned to face the happy couple sat next to me. I suppose I should converse with them, so that's what I did.
"Hi." I smiled.
At first, they didn't notice me, but then the woman spotted me.
"Hello, sweet!" she giggled, "I'm Darcy. This is Dre."
"Piper."
"Nice name."
"Yours are, too."
"So, why're you headed to London?"
"Family stuff, I suppose. Are you two on a honeymoon, or-"
"Oh, god! No! Darcy is my best friend. We're going to see the x-factor tour." Dre groaned.
"Sure, whatever floats your boat. You would make a cute couple," I winked, "Anyway... What's the x-factor tour?"
For the rest of that journey to Heathrow airport, I was informed about the hit television programme, 'The X-Factor'. Well, I didn't understand Darcy's a-thousand-miles-a-minute speech very well, but, eh. I decided to just be polite and nod my head when it seemed appropriate, so she wouldn't be offended.
That's when I stood off of the plane. Sudden realisation hit me; What if Dad and Liam don't want me? What if they got rid of me and left me with my mother... on purpose? What. If.
Calm down, Piper. There's probably a logical explanation for this. Stop thinking about the worst that could happen, because it won't. They'll love you! C'mon, Piper. You can do this.
I called over a taxi and told him the street name of where Geoff and Liam lived (it was in the package). Over the two-and-a-half hour journey, I talked to the driver about what was happening and he listened the whole. Freaking. Way. Props to this man.
Anyway, so when he pulled up to the corner of the street, i frowned. I had no money to pay this taxi driver, Shane.
"Oh my gosh, Shane! I'm so so so so so sorry! Ah, I'm so careless! I'm sorry! I don't have any money! Aish! What d'ya want me to do for you to pay off the bill? Oh, llama cake! I'm so sorry! I should have thought this through, Shane-" I rambled.
"Hey, it's okay. You don't have to pay, you have a hard enough life as it is." he chuckled.
"I can't do that." I refused.
"Please! Take the offer?" Shane begged.
"Are you sure?" I questioned.t
"Sure." he replied, firmly.
I sighed, "Thanks, Shane!" I waved and he waved back. Sweetest 60 year old ever.
I began knocking on every door in the street, and came across a nice looking house. The people I had just visited said that there was a Geoff living in this cosy place.
I inhaled deeply, raising my hand, bunched into a fist, and knocked on the door ever so slowly and softly.
After not even 5 seconds, I attempted to turn around and leave, but was stopped by a voice.
"Hello?"
